I caught it on another site someone having issues with it had checked into it. I am so seldom on this site anymore ...maybe once every 6 months...not like when I first joined when the site opened..so I didn't know anyone on here had known about this issue..Sorry but I thought I would be helping someone   ....I will say to my understanding  when corn is dried, it's then considered a grain.... I would think that corn is corn is corn...and if the dog has an allergy to it, it's regardless if it is dry or fresh silk or not and I think my post on this stated it was silk . My dog is allergic to corn so I am glad I didn't feed the food to him. To me it seems like a filler.

Anyhow I just wanted you all to know in case you didn't...I would rather repeat info than have someone's pet die because I didn't take the time to let people know..

Hi Petslave they told me they THINK it could be excess minerals but without the biscuits it's hard to tell..So I mailed them and kept her snail mail letter..I have found what looks like a suture in Ca Natural dog food but I mentioned that somewhere else a while back...Still have to get my state Agri dept a certified letter cause all my phone calls got zero reply ...grrr. I just can't see if it is vitamins or minerals in the Natural Balance treats why this stuff happens..I mean IT'S SOOO many companies...I made dog biscuits at home and manage not to F it up....I don't know why they can't when they get paid to do it..Makes me cross can you tell  Embarrassed  They have killed enough of my pets with the cat foods....

I just wanted to drop in and let you know I rarely buy my dog's treats I make them but now and then I have something in case I am not able to bake. I had 3 bags of the small dog treats....duck and potato ones...when I opened them they looked very different ..lots of white things in them..A LOT ...I could see it if it was salmon or their fish due to that look you get when you make salmon patties the bones all teeny and cooked in....but not DUCK  Roll Eyes  So I called them they said this is not normal I talked to a nice girl named Jennifer....she asked for a few /couple biscuits to test and sent me some coupons too.....I have the bag and most of the biscuits..I will let you all know IF they really let me know what is in the odd looking snacks....Just wanted to give you a heads up. I will post the date on the bag later ..its way up on the cupboards where I can't reach it..hubby has to get it down and he is asleep

Thanks Catswoods,Leslie and again Mandycat and Klondike,
I am going to order some of those garlic pills (they still have a deal showing in red on the drop down menu thanks for the link) and MAYBE get some of the peppermint soap...I am a little leery of the soap only cause his sense of smell and all....I can and have picked them off..out safely with the head and all...the 2 he had in him but ...ughhh <insert icky faced smiley>  Maybe he ever had fleas and ticks before because he has eatten some of our human foods over the years and I eat tons of garlic..I love it...

Ticks mega gross me out...spiders and ticks..the thought of them jumping or falling out of trees makes me feel even sicker  Tongue

I really fear all the issues they can cause..not just Lymes but the joint issues we can get them too and well...they ARE gross...Thanks.....next to work on wasps and hornets..ahh the fun of spring and summer  Grin Cheesy

Deer ticks are very, very tiny.  If you spotted the ticks without much difficulty, I would think they would have been dog ticks since they would be much easier to see.  You should not have to treat the house.  At least, I have never heard of anyone treating the house after finding a few ticks on themselves or their dogs.  Living in the country, I think it is going to be a challenge not to have to use some kind of chemical.  What have you used in the past?

Thanks Mandycat...they are tiny but when I saw the first one I thought it was a teeny spider...then ugh...tick and they are soooo hard to crack...I have never had to use ANY product on him all his life...last year he had like 3 ticks total I bought 1 frontline but never got the guts to use it.....then it all ended...no more ticks..I still have the Frontline Plus...though it may have expired....Maybe this is a silly question but why would dog ticks be around in the park deal we go to that never had any dogs?  I don't doubt you but can't figure out how he got  or we...got dog ticks when we never visit any dogs nor go near them...but we do have a huge deer population here...biggest in my state...Though the ticks...well I saw one from about 8 feet away and it wasnt full of blood ...I babble cause I am grossed out  Tongue
