This is not good news. If there are people that are not happy here, why wouldn't they just go to another forum and leave the rest of us in peace to fight for the safety of our animals? Is this why menusux is gone? I hope not....
Poor Rufus! I hope he feels better soon. I'm sure your Angel Vet will be able to get to the bottom of this. Hang in there Peg, I know it's hard not to worry but you are doing everything possible.
I would also like to know which foods are so high in copper.
I don't really have any advice to add on this situation, but wanted to say thank you to catbird and friends who are working so hard to find mom cat and kits a safe place to go.
Just catching up with these most recent posts. I'm glad KD is eating again and that the Pepcid seems to be helping to settle her tummy. Pepcid does seem to be a wonder drug for cats. I wouldn't worry too much about taking her off the prescription diet. It's much more important that she eats well and it makes her happy. She could be eating a lot worse than Wellness.
As many others have said, it sounds like it could be the constipation/arthritis combo. My elderly cat still pees in her box (thankfully) but she has left little poop "presents" around the house for years. My cat is on all wet food and subQ fluids also, but still gets constipated. You may want to try adding a little canned pumpkin (the 100% pumpkin, not the pie filling) to her food. I also use psyllium husk powder to loosen Peanut up.
The other thing you may want to consider is changing to a larger litter box with a low entrance that she can easily get in and out of. I know Pea now needs easy access and lots of room to move around, perhaps that would help KD too.
Thanks for posting these! These guys sure are cute. Maybe someone looking for 2 kitties can take Annie & Teddy together. They sure seem devoted to eachother.
