This is not good news.  If there are people that are not happy here, why wouldn't they just go to another forum and leave the rest of us in peace to fight for the safety of our animals?  Is this why menusux is gone?  I hope not....

What happened to Menusux?Huh  Please come back!  I read everything you post and appreciate your very thorough research.

Thanks for posting the new pics!  Happy week 7 kitties!

I love the ones of Sassy with each of the 2 girls.  The kitties look soooo big already.
4  Pet Behavior and Health Questions / Help With My Sick Pet / Re: Rufus on: October 11, 2008, 03:37:40 PM
Poor Rufus!  I hope he feels better soon.  I'm sure your Angel Vet will be able to get to the bottom of this.  Hang in there Peg, I know it's hard not to worry but you are doing everything possible.

I would also like to know which foods are so high in copper.
5  Pet Food Info (Menu Foods, Iams, Purina, Hills, Ol'Roy, etc.) / Your Problems with Pet Food / Re: Pet foods containing dairy products or derivatives on: October 10, 2008, 04:56:53 AM
I emailed Wysong and asked about sourcing of the dried whey in their food and treats and this is the reply I received:

Thank you for your recent letter.

The whey in the Wysong diets is sourced from Minnesota, and is not from China. There is not a risk of melamine contamination in Wysong products.

It is always my pleasure to assist you.

I don't really have any advice to add on this situation, but wanted to say thank you to catbird and friends who are working so hard to find mom cat and kits a safe place to go.

8  Pet Behavior and Health Questions / Help With My Sick Pet / Re: Need some good thoughts for KD on: October 09, 2008, 04:26:42 PM
Just catching up with these most recent posts.  I'm glad KD is eating again and that the Pepcid seems to be helping to settle her tummy.  Pepcid does seem to be a wonder drug for cats.  I wouldn't worry too much about taking her off the prescription diet.  It's much more important that she eats well and it makes her happy.  She could be eating a lot worse than Wellness.
9  Pet Behavior and Health Questions / Memorials and Support / Re: Angel Kaffe Has Gone to Heaven on: October 08, 2008, 01:38:26 PM
I am in shock also, I was not expecting to hear this today.   Cry

Rest in Peace, Kaffe.

My thoughts are with you Mom Kaffe and Cato.
10  Product Reviews and Discussions / Cat Toys and Other Products / Re: Clumping Litter Recommendations? on: October 08, 2008, 04:54:32 AM
Kittylyda,

You asked me to post when I found out whether Vetbasis cat litter is made in the USA.

Catclaws had been out of it for some time, they just sent me an email that it is back in stock, and it is made in the USA.

I just ordered some, anxious to try it.

Thank you

Good news all around! Thanks for letting me know. My local store has been out of it too--maybe this means they will be getting a shipment.

Let me know what you think of it.

13  Pet Behavior and Health Questions / Pet Behavior & Training / Re: Pees in box, but poops elsewhere on: October 07, 2008, 06:21:59 AM
As many others have said, it sounds like it could be the constipation/arthritis combo.  My elderly cat still pees in her box (thankfully) but she has left little poop "presents" around the house for years.  My cat is on all wet food and subQ fluids also, but still gets constipated.  You may want to try adding a little canned pumpkin (the 100% pumpkin, not the pie filling) to her food.  I also use psyllium husk powder to loosen Peanut up.

The other thing you may want to consider is changing to a larger litter box with a low entrance that she can easily get in and out of.  I know Pea now needs easy access and lots of room to move around, perhaps that would help KD too.

Thanks for posting these!  These guys sure are cute.  Maybe someone looking for 2 kitties can take Annie & Teddy together.  They sure seem devoted to eachother.
