I had been giving my three cats a pouch a day to share of this stuff and they loved it. Recently the big guy started throwing up clear liquid just like he did eating the recalled brands (Iams, nutro, pounce etc). At the same time my tortie was laying on her side, hanging her head for a whole day totally out of normal. I stopped feeding the pouches immediately, because they were made in Thailand. I kept feeding my cats the Brandon Farms organics dry kibbles, as well as the homemade food that makes up about half their diet.
The cats recovered in a couple days, although the big cat, who was throwing up became constipated not using the litter box at all, which may or may not be related to the food, since he has an enlarged bladder due to urinary blockages, and can go downhill fast
Has any one else had trouble with these pouches? The vomit was not hairball, but just like the problem with the recalled cat foods. There hasn't been an episode since I stopped. In any case, watch out for this symptom if you use these pouches. I saw my cats almost die in the last recall, and this vomiting was so similar. Stupidly I did not save the packages they ate, although I have other packs left in my pantry.

I finally found my password to login and was looking for comments about Newman's canned cat food. Since my cats got sick with recalled food, I have been making about half their food, and also giving them Brandon Farms organics dry kibbles from Krogers, and for a treat Whiskas Purrfectly fish pouches because it said fish only, made in Thailand (not China).
They started getting sick fast recently, throwing up clear liquid just like with the recalled Iams so I discontinued the Whiskas pouches and the symptoms stopped. But now I was stuck with angry cats used to pouch food. The big cat, who has enlarged bladder became constipated. For him that can be life threatening. I needed something to get some canned pumpkin into him so I bought the Paul Newmans at Walmart. It was very soft and mushy and they love it. They don't even care about the canned pumpkin I am adding. ( the pumpkin, and two enemas fixed his problem)
They seem to be doing well on it. They like the chicken and salmon, the plain chicken and turkey, and a little less the one with vegetables.
Reviews from a year ago mentioned chunks of food, and whole grains of rice. I don't see that now. It is a very smooth mush. The food pulls away from the edge of the can. It may be a slightly different color in the center. But our Walmarts just started carrying it, so the stock is new. It may discolor as it gets old.
My cats might just like it because the Whiskas was getting so bad. They have been pigging out on it for two weeks now. I sure hope this isn't a Menu foods product because I had to figure a way to dose my bubbie because I cant afford any more vet bills

We lived in an apartment with very bad plumbing that clogged easily. It was also three flights down to the garbage. Cobbycat from corncobs was not only flushable, it actually helped keep the pipes open. It is hard to find, we have to special order it. It is soft and flaky like wheat germ. The cats love it. It makes very fragile large spherical clumps you have to scoop carefully or they fall apart. Our stupid third cat tends to break up the clumps which means we have to change more often. It is quite good on smell. My cats track everything in their paws. At least with Cobbycat you dont have rocks in the bed at night.
Worlds Best made denser wetter clumps. Because World's Best has starch I was afraid to flush it. Plus it would stick to the pan. It was very good on smell. Too expensive.
I have started using S'WHeat in one pan. S'Wheat is very good on smell. I can even scoop out droppings into a bag and as long as I put some s'wheat into the bag it will not stink up my garbage can. However it sticks like crazy. We use a Wonderbox paper mache box liner and then the pan doesnt get dirty. I would never flush S'Wheat. I fear having to call a plumber.
I have tried most of the natural litters. My cats don't mind the newpaper ones, although they stay too wet. They hated the pine litters. They always prefer Cobbycat to any other litter.
I love the Wonderbox which I get at the supermarket. The cats like it too

willyagogo you gave me an idea of what is in the video. For now I can't handle it. I still cannot erase the images of a video taken inside a Pilgrims Pride chicken processing plant that was on our news. A man in a white lab coat walked through a bunch of distressed chickens in a darkened room kicking some aside like sacks of garbage feathers flying. i cant look at that product label anymore without seeing the cruelty
I am going to watch the video but not now. I have to be in a stronger frame of mind. This is a cruel world that pretends to be kind

I don't have the nerve to watch the video. Could someone summarize what it shows?
I am certain that I got a dose of animal tranquilizer once. I cooked up a beef stew. Ate a bowl and sat down in front of the computer. Started to log in. I opened my eyes and realized my chin was on my chest and I was sitting upright. It was three hours later and I hadn't finished the logon.
My spouse came home and had a dish. Sat down at the computer. I didn't hear a peep. It took no time for lights out. About three hours to wake up. Somewhere we compared notes and threw away the food. There was no sleepiness, no warning. Just - bam. out. We figure a cow was sedated before being processed.
Having seen some abuse videos from chicken processing plants I do not want to guess the details.
I do not trust our government to be honest in these matters. They have become a profit protection agency. FDA workers are told to take precautions whil they tell us to eat up.

anna, I agree with many of your positions although I am a conservative.
However, I would add a major betrayal by Clinton when he overrode Pentagon objections to allow one of his biggest donors and friends at Loral to hand over secret missile guidance info to the Chinese. This gave them the ability to target any city in the US with nukes, a technology the US military estimated was at least 10 years off otherwise. Just over a week ago the Chinese announced they have now positioned missiles over each of our carriers. They said this was in the event of conflict over Chinese takeover of Taiwan. Clinton also appointed a friend as national advisor who had published the thesis that the era of the nation-state was dead.
I watched Robert Reich, a sweet honorable guy in the Clinton group gush about how great it is that a dress is designed in NY, pattern cut in Hong Kong, and sewn in China to be sold in the US. That creates exactly one american job. The dreamer makes his money talking and writing books, unlike the rest of struggling real world USA. The Chinese have just made their first major bid to buy a chunk of the US with that huge one-way flow of dollars
The Clinton White house had an open door policy for shady Chinese donors, who dropped him bucks via money laundries like a Bhuddist Temple. People on both sides are being seduced by Chinese money from the crap we buy from China.
A while back a British man was raided because an appliance in his house was transmitting the military SOS signals picked up by satellite. How do we know it was not a test? All the Chinese have to do is build similar transmitters into cell phones, or televisions and have them all emit that signal on an attack day. How would our military find the real distress calls?
They could build X-factors into guidance systems for passenger planes. Why wouldn't they? They have no qualms poisoning us. Millions of Chinese mini blinds are still all over this country filled with lead to 'soften' the vinyl. The Chinese were a major recycler of lead batteries from over the world. American companies never thought of using toxic lead in vinyl Meanwhile Clinton is still soft pedaling China. His new best bud is - surprise - [edited] Sr. while [edited] Jr. is too busy importing replacement workers from Mexico he hasn't noticed the pets are dying. His Homeland Security chief said if the amnesty bill doesnt pass he will have to start enforcing the law against illegal entry. But when the queen came to DC they got her lamb to eat, just in case. Can't poison the queen
I wish I could sic my cats on the whole bunch of them except the cats wouldnt eat those buzzards

I broke down and ordered a test bag of Kumpi. The reason: my cats are used to having a stash of food. One cat has a bowl on a tall cabinet. When it runs low she is after me to restock. They are pretty smart and want to keep the larder full. I worry about bugs, ants and flies, so I wanted a dry food.
My finances are bad and I have been using Dad's, along with fresh meat and fish. Dad's uses American ingredients. The cats like Dad's but it leaves them hungry. It just doesn't have the nutrition.
Dry food is not their main food but am very curious to see how they go for Kumpi
