Pet Behavior and Health Questions / Pet Behavior & Training / Keeping cats off countertops?

I have 4 cats and the youngest one will not stay off the countertops. The squirt bottle and loud noises don't seem to be much of a deterrent because he just waits until you turn your back. We consistenly put him on the floor when we see him and tell him no but he's very stubborn. I even tried lining the counters with foil but that doesn't bother him either.
I am considering trying a CatScram device but I am worried that the noise will affect the other cats who aren't doing anything wrong at the time. Any advice?

Product Reviews and Discussions / Cat Toys and Other Products / Clevercat Top Entry Litterbox

Has anyone tried the top entry litterbox for a fat cat? My cats kick out an enormous amount of litter from the litterbox. No mat has even been able to contain it (plus one of the cats pees on the mats if they're there) so I thought I would try this kind of box. But I have an 18.5 lb cat. I measured him and technically, he will fit through the hole but I'm wondering if other people with large kitties have successfully used this product?

Are you cats tree climbers/jumpers when they are outdoors? Not all cats are. And even if they are, a carpeted "tree" isn't really the same experience. I would make sure the cat tree does not wobble and maybe try tempting them up there using a wand toy or something they like to chase?

I've got 3 kids with another on the way. Puma is our old lady (medium haired tabby). She's a one person cat (my husband's) and definitely a queen-bee. At 10 years old, she still has as much energy as a kitten. Loves to play and chase and show everyone who's boss.
Fletcher (black) is supposedly Puma's son. He is our skinny guy who lives for food. Slightly neurotic and nervous, he is still a sweet boy but doesn't like strangers. He likes to be in your general vicinity but not in easy petting distance. But we have caught him a few times lately laying on his back ready for a belly rub. Both were adopted from the local humane society.
Marlowe (brown and white tabby) is our big boy (18 lbs) who loves nothing more than to nap with his people. He is our most social kitty and a catnip addict. We got him as a kitten from an acquaintance.
On the way is a ragdoll kitten that was born on Aug 13th. Can't wait to bring him home in November.

Product Reviews and Discussions / Cat Toys and Other Products / Pet Hair Remover?

Can anyone recommend a good product to remove pet hair from a fleece blanket? Other than a very large amount of tape, I haven't had much success. Tried the basic sticky pet rollers and one of those red fabric lint brush with no luck. I had hoped tossing it in the washer and dryer would help but all I got was a blanket covered in clean pet hair.
