1  Pet Food Info (Menu Foods, Iams, Purina, Hills, Ol'Roy, etc.) / Cat Food Experiences By Brand / Re: Fancy Feast on: Today at 01:21:05 PM
Kinda reminds me of those students who come in the dead of winter in sweaters, no hats, no boots, no mittens and never seem to get sick. Some of the students with all of the above, plus transportation door to door (no standing at a cold bus stop for them) caught every bug that was going around. Interesting, isn't it?

Thanks, Don. I will most definitely take a look at ingredients when I go to the store. Maybe there are some Friskies flavors that she will eat.

OTOH, she seems to have more of an appetite today so perhaps her gut is settling down after all the trauma she's had with worms, bacteria, etc. She also does NOT like the water added so maybe she's going to start drinking more if I don't add it to her food. . .

We'll see what happens.

Thanks, you guys. I have tried the Wellness kitten and she's not any crazier about that than the adult flavors. I am going to get some cans of the FF and see how she handles them.

I so appreciate you taking the time to help me track this down. Not what I'd prefer she eats, but I PREFER SHE EATS SOMETHING!!

Will let you know how it goes.

Okay, since Sassy isn't eating the Wellness cans very enthusiastically, I stopped to find some gluten-free FF. Can anyone help me with names, colors, etc of what I'm supposed to be looking for? The store said they have no grain-free (same as gluten free?) and I called the other stores in the area and they have no grain-free. I did bring home a can of Merricks and she loved that!
I know that FF is not the best quality, but I have to get this cat eating enough for herself and five kittens. Thought FF might be a good option since most cats seem to love it.
So, if anyone can give me a list of gluten-free flavors, etc to look for I would appreciate it. Hate to do it, but I have to do something. I DO NOT want to bottle feed five kittens for two weeks!! They need to eat which means Sassy needs to eat!

Shibadiva, I'm glad that your seniors are eating enthusiastically again. Not eating scares me to death, since that's how CJ handles sickness and we ended up with liver problems and feeding tubes.

Thanks for whatever help anyone would care to give me.

Actually all three of the little boys are black tigers . . .

That sounds pretty normal for a cat coming out of anesthesia. I'm glad that he's home and hungry. It's way easier than having them at the vets (and easier for them being at the vets). Imagine he will sleep it off tonight and be back to himself tomorrow.

Keep us posted, please.

edited: Easier for him than being at the vets . . .duh

How nice for the kitten that he has a big brother to teach him how to be a cat. My daughter has a cat who has "no kitty manners" and frequently annoys their other cats. What beautiful boys they are!!

BTW . . .  I know where there are going to be some beautiful kittens looking for a new home in the near future

NO MUD PUDDLES!!  Grin Grin Grin

I did try leaving mugs of water around and she wasn't the least bit interested in them. I will have to try some other kinds of containers. I do think she will drink if she gets thirsty. I'm hoping that getting her gut working right might level everything off, too.

One other thing I'm noticing is that she is more aware of the other cats here. She is very fussy about covering in the litter box, will go back and recover what's she's just covered. She also is covering her food when she stops eating so I'm wondering if she's more nervous about the original five now that the babies are here.  I know her and I know there's a method to her madness somewhere. Just wish I talked "cat" better.   Wink

I feel very stupid about this entire situation. I have sensed a lot of unfriendliness but I would hope that we are adult enough to have discussions (about issues) that don't attack people, but stick to the issues.

You all have been so much of my support through CJ's crises (and a few others) and Sassy's arrival and gift of kittens. I would hate for anything to happen to this forum so it was no longer available to us. I, too, have learned from all of you and value your opinions, even those that I don't agree with. But I am always willing to listen, and, yah, sometimes I even change my point of view.

I don't know what the answer is because my experience with forums, groups has been pretty limited. But I sure know that I would hate to lose this forum and all of you.

Don't we have enough to deal with in this world without attacking each other? Can anyone simplify and clarify exactly what THE MAIN PROBLEM is for me? Is it locking threads? misunderstanding comments? picking on others for their opinions? What exactly is going on here?

Sorry to be so dumb, but sometimes it's hard for me to sort out.

No kittycam ~ I'm technologically impaired as it is. I need NO MORE complications in my life.

Sorry, no indoor mud puddles! She's going to have to learn "indoor ways"!

Seems that Sass has clostridium overgrowth in her gut (think I got that right) and she is on metrodia . . .something for 10 days. The MSU vet wasn't surprised considering the parasite load she has had. So hopefully the meds will take care of it and she can have some normal poops sometime soon. It's a good thing she's a basically healthy mama cat.

Vet also said the kits likely have/will have worms. YUCK!! They are so tiny . . .

It is such fun to see the kits with their eyes open. Can't wait until Sassy is okay with me picking them up and snuggling them. It still makes her nervous because they squeal when you do anything and then her "mama cat" instincts take over. So I'm trying to respect her and just pet them in their home.

Will try to get pictures.
Sandi, NO INDOOR MUD PUDDLES!! I do have my limits Roll Eyes

So glad to hear that Davey came through the dental with flying colors. He's going to do just fine with one tooth gone. CJ had four extracted on her last dental and it hasn't slowed her down one single bit.

I think he can have whatever he wants for dinner (or whatever his next meal is).

Good boy, Davey!!  Roll Eyes

Okay, I've been reading backwards from the most recent posts to find out where ice cream came into this thread. I have to admit I'm kind of a purist ~ vanilla with Saunders hot fudge (if you're in Michigan you probably have eaten Saunders ~ best stuff in the world)! Second best is plain old chocolate chip ~ reminds me of the dairy queen cones with the crunchy chocolate topping. YUMMMM (and I have NONE in my freezer)!!!

Anybody remember butter brickle? Haven't had that in years . . . and can't find it anywhere.

I found Palin's acceptance speech to be arrogant and sarcastic.
