I just found this in a little local pet shop (chicago). Since its kosher, that means if any of the animal (cow, chicken etc) is diseased, it can't be used in the food. The results have been mixed. The cat who eats everything ate it, the cat who is a little picky wouldn't go near it initially. She did eat a little last night when I gave the big guy a little as a treat. We've tried chicken and turkey flavors and I think I have one more can to go. Neither cat has shown any bad reaction to the food but based on the lack of enthusiasm, we won't be adding this to the rotation.

Its always interesting that different cats can have such different reactions to the same food. My cats never got sick on BB wet and have no problems with the small kibbbles (Innova EVA kibbles which I also use are even smaller).
I just received an email from BB that they expect their wet food back in the stores sometime in October - I wonder who will be manufacturing it? I'll certainly want to know that before I give it another try.

This was my primary dry food prior to the recalls. I'm still using some of the dry Indoor Cat Food as a trade off from the usual dry I now use. My change was due more to wanting a higher protein food for the cats than any problem.
I also used the canned food which my cats liked a lot. If I recall correctly, their food was supposed to be grain/gluten free but the manufacturer was adding it without their knowledge. I don't believe that their were any reports of illness before they pulled the food. I never had any problems with it and when they find somewhere else to manufacturer it, I will use it again.
I keep forgetting this - I'm in Chicago , IL.

This is the main dry food I feed my cats (they get 1/2 wet & 1/2 dry). They like it a lot. My last bag of the old formulation was pretty dusty as well. I think this may be because the kibble isn't as hard as some and tends to crumble pretty easily - which could happen if the bags get bumped around during shipping.
We just started a bag of the 'new' version. It was not at all dusty and I do not detect any changes in the food or my cats. And yes, for whatever reason, EVO makes for some pretty stinky stools!

Pet Food Info (Menu Foods, Iams, Purina, Hills, Ol'Roy, etc.) / Cat Food Experiences By Brand / Weruva wet cat food

I've been using Weruva wet cat food for about 4 months. Its made in Thailand to EU human standards (the company sent me their EU certifications). They actually are a company that makes food for people and they use the left overs for cats. Mostly fish combinations, they just came out with 2 chicken flavors. It has no grain protein added. Most flavors have no grain at all - one has a little bit of whole rice.
The food looks a little scary when you first open it because its real food (chunks of fish or chicken, little calamari rings). With skin and everything, and soft bones. Because this is made with left overs that aren't pureed, a flavor does vary in consistency a bit from can to can. Example - sometimes the calamari rings are few and small, other times - they are a pretty good size. Ocassionally you'll find a monster chunk of fish in the can but its easily mashed with a fork.
My cats love it and I've not seen any bad reactions to it. One of my cats does not like the chicken entrees- I think this is because the pieces are too big for her to handle and don't mash up as easily as the fish.
Its very hard to find - only one pet store in Chicago carries it. They have a web site - so you can check out whether its available in your area. And the cost? I need a second mortgagte on my house!
