As many of you know Sophers is our new kitty, just turned a year old in April so is still going thru a lot of "new" experiences and so fun to watch while going thru these. Lately she has been enamored of all the critters outside, bugs, hummingbirds, stellar jays, moths, butterflies, etc. She will be over at the window and see something. "Mom, come here, quick!!!! LOOOOK!!! Quick, get over here mom, your gonna miss it!!!"

She is so intent on whatever she is watching that Ive been dropping whatever Im doing to go check it out, sometimes its such a big deal to her Im thinking what in the world is out there! Well, we have gone thru this many times now over and over. MOM!! OMG LOOOOK! Wow, its huge, better come quick!" that I have started to ignore it and not go over and check it out as its always the same thing, a little tiny bug of some sort, a squirrel, a bird, whatever.

OK Sophers, ya know, mommy has seen all these things lots of times.

Well this morning she was doing the same thing, MOM come quick, WOW, its huge, come over NOW!. Just to appease her and make her feel like, yep, you have discovered the first stellar jay in this world, I went over to look and put on the totally amazed act so her pride doesnt get too wounded. I took one look, holy batman, Sophers!! There was a huge bear outside!

Yes, indeed, Sophers! This one really is big and worth crowing about (although I doubt DH would have thought it was big). He meandered off but its nice to have the warning in case I decide to go outside without checking first. Its that time of year here. It reminded me of the tale about The Boy Who Cried Wolf, but instead this was about the Cat Who Cried Wolf......or bear.

And shhhh, dont tell Sophers but yes, I let her think she discovered the first bear in the world too.
