Post has been deleted.

I've edited this several times.  Hopefully I'll get it right this time.   Undecided

nic7,

We appreciate your posts and contributions to the forum.  Unfortunately, we all know the sad reality of shelters, and many of us have adopted shelter dogs and cats.  This is a very emotional topic for a lot of us.  We are on overload.  Please don't repost this particular story.

Thank you.

JustMe

This story needs to be sent to the ring!

I was waiting to see if anyone else hated it as much as I do.  Thought I was overreacting.  Makes me want to vomit.  I'm deleting it.

I read it.Didn't really mean to read all of it. Cried my eyes out afterward. Unfortunately this is what happens at kill shelters - but we in this Forum already are aware - the poster is "preaching to the choir" and I agree this is too graphic. Maybe this story can instead still serve the animals cause by getting sent to town and city officials with a message also promoting no-kill shelters and TNR for feral populations.

Exactly, "preaching to the choir".  All my cats have been rescues, shelter, or abandoned cats nobody wanted, as I am sure have cats/dogs of many, many other members here.

Thank you for deleting it, JustMe. And also thank you for leaving the title which has a positive message. I read until I realized where the article was headed. And I did not care to read something so emotional that I'd think about it for a long time to come. I do all I can to stop this, but I can only do so much. Constantly being reminded of something so distasteful will not make the situation go away any faster.

Even though I missed it, the story must have been heartbreaking.  Thank you JustMe for sparing me seeing and reading.  I read the Best Friends magazine and that had me sobbing uncontrollably.  Sometimes, I just can't handle it, but it does not mean I don't care or we don't care.  Sometimes I think we care so very much, that it hurts us even more.

Thank you for expressing it in those words. That is exactly what I was trying to express to anna, but could not get the wording right and was thus misunderstood.

MarySmith, your writing is as clear as a bell to me and to the other folks who post here regularly.

Sometimes ranters try to read between the lines........where there is nothing to be found, yet they think it's there anyway Huh

And if THAT made any sense.....I'll eat my socks......which would be bloody torture coming off these stinky paws

Well, when i posted this i had no intention of ticking anyone off, obviously i did. The story bothered me as much as the next person.  I apologize fo posting this, and I think in the future i will reframe from posting anything. ("the other folks who post here regularly.) I guess only the ones who have been here for awhile are ok to print whatever.
However i will continue to visit the forums as i have talked to quite a few people who have made a difference and i Continue to try to find any info that could maybe someday cure my baby since he was poisoned my the pet food recall.
Please reframe from replying to my post, i apologized and it will not happen again.

There is no need to apologize.  Understand that nobody indicated that they were "ticked off".  It would be better to just post a link to the story (rather than the whole story) and indicate it is disturbing so people can choose whether or not to follow your link.  That is a better way to handle it.
