Well no one let him in,so he was definitely hiding in the house. He ate breakfast & by the time I got out of the shower he was gone again ! I can't figure out where he is ! Skipped his lunch time treat too. I hope he didn't sneak something disgusting in to eat when he wants. It will eventually start to stink & hopefully I can find the hiding spot. He used both litter boxes at some point . I didn't think to check that yesterday when I was searching for him. BTW I told you all that black & white cats get into a lot of trouble !

leslie, So relieved that Oreo is safe. I hope you figure out his hiding place! My kitty keeps finding new places in the house to hide and keeps me guessing at times when I can't find her. I always panic a bit since she is strictly an indoor cat, but sooner or later she will either appear or meow when I call her so I can discover the hiding place. At least when I know about a new one I can add it to my list of where to look! They are very clever at hiding and keeping quiet so that you can't find them, little stinkers. I think sometimes they must decide "Today is the day I think I'll make them worry and appreciate me more!" |

This same thing just happened with our feral cat, Bob. It looked like his paw got bit or stung or something, swollen, hard to walk. He won't come in the house and vanished for 2 days. Now he is back, probably laughing at us for worrying about him.
Glad that Oreo is back.

Lesliek, I'm so Very happy that you found Him. I wonder if He was in the box springs? Did You check the bottom and see if He can get up under there?
Or under the blankets? Wherever- i'm just glad He's home and safe and sound.
What a scare- Not good Oreo.

DB, I also meant to say- anytime a cat looks like something has bitten it or has a swollen paw, give them benedril. I always keep it on hand, the vet always uses it, and you can buy the no name even. I like the childrens liquid, put it in a syring , they hate it, and just put it their mouths as quick as you can.
It's something all cat and dog owners should have on hand. Even if they have to go to the vet, she always tells Me- give them the benedril first.

No luck on the hiding place yet ! He's been out & around all day fromabout 1:30 on. He did eat breakfast dinner & treats,but left about 1/4-1/3 of his meals. I think he had something to eat stashed away in his hiding spot . Guess we will find it soon buy smell.  |

How is he acting other than hiding and not eating so well? Does he seem to not feel well? Certainly don't want it to be the case, but unusual behaviour such as his attacking Punkin, the hiding, and the lack of appetite could be clues that something is bothering him physically. Cats often hide when they don't feel well, and are very good at trying to hide that fact. Don't mean to make you worry, but I would be alert for any other signs of illness over the next few days.
