Marco (FL) News July 16, 2010
First person: Dog illnesses here — Possible link to pet treats made in China

The person writing this was using Kingdom Pets Made in China chicken jerky treats:

"Kingdom Pets, the US firm that distributes the product we had given our dog, makes the jerky in its “American joint-venture manufacturing plant in China.” The company’s web site deals with concerns over the safety of the products.

"“All Kingdom Pets products sold in the U.S. are processed under USDA and FDA guidelines and are specifically treated to be bacterial free. All our products go through strenuous lab tests to ensure that our products are completely safe and nontoxic. We also take precautionary measures to ensure the integrity of our products throughout our supply chain.

“"Every batch we produce is tested in the U.S. to assure they are free of bacteria such as E. Coli and Salmonella. Although not required by the USDA, all products are irradiated for added safety before export.

“"Kingdom Pets products do not contain any fillers or byproducts. They are made from only 100 percent natural ingredients.

“"There have never been any Kingdom Pets product recalled.”"

Another reminder that the FDA has never changed their cautionary statements about these treats:

For once, I'm glad Bella is allergic to chicken and it is banned from my home.  Angry
