Trudy that is a sweet story. Sounds like Kemper was a really good person & wanted his dogs to have their home when he was gone.

That is a wonderful story. It really sounds as though the caretaker and estate administrator are people who are carrying out the late guardian's wishes. [One wonders how the Helmsley estate for Trouble is fairing.]

Maybe this lovely story is an omen for good things to start happening for all animals in 2008.

This is a very heart-warming story.  I think we should all think about how we are to provide for our surviving pets should we kick the bucket sooner than expected. Hmmm... yes... definitely a thought.

kaffe I agree. My last dog I had a friend who was willing to take her should anything have happened to me but my current dog was abused by a man and so she would have a hard time in anyone else's home since she is still skittish and shakes when certain of my male friends come over and a couple of female friends as well. Time will tell if she ever gets over her fears.

Love the article.   Those dogs sure got lucky.  What a thoughtful owner he was to provide for his best friends in that manner.
