Sorry a URL will not work in this instance.  You need to sign up for membership to read the post.  But let me ASK PERMISSION from the original poster to copy that letter and then I'll post it here.  May take 24 hrs but I'll try now.

My sentiments - why is everyone so quick to turn this in to a witch hunt?

Granted, I've skimmed a lot of these posts, but most of them are just bashing other - pet food manufactures, other posters, etc.

How about something helpful to people that are feeding the food in question?
Like what to look for in Acetaminophen poisoning in dogs - vomiting, dullness, difficulty breathing, development of brown-colored gums (instead of a normal pink color) and drooling

How much it takes to cause harm - a 50 pound dog would need to ingest over seven 500 mg tablets.

All the recalls are horrible and they've made me very cautious about what brands I will buy now.  But I just get the feeling that there are some people that are looking for excuses to cause problems for any and all pet food company out there.  I actually do think that there are some out there that do want to have a quality product that is good for our pets.  That now more than ever, they are been cautious about what sources they are using.  And yes, they are making money in the process. Any business needs to make some money to be viable - that's just how things work.  That doesn't mean that they are immediately the boogie man at the door.

Get a test that's done properly of the food - an un-opened bag.  Get the codes on the bag right.  Get the location that the bag is purchased at right.  Be willing to allow the pet food company to test a sample from the same source that you used. If you want results that one can trust, you have to do all of this.  If the chain of events for the testing is full of holes and the story keeps changing, no one is going to find those results believable.

I'm sure I'm now labeled as a brand loyalist and a troll....but so be it.

My three dogs are all still on Canidae, doing fine, and eating great.  They have been for months now since I switched from a brand that was linked to the original recall.

It's been awhile since I've posted, life has been very busy around here. But I have kept up on all the threads and posts. I kinda have to agree with eckybay about all these posts on Canidae. 100% of the truth would be nice but will that happen? Probably not. Since all this happened this year and I was feeding food that was in the recall, I tried to do what I thought was best for my dogs. You all here at Itchmo helped more than you can know. So that being said I came to the decision to try Canidae, my dogs got along fine on it and have been doing OK since in June. Is it the perfect food "hell no" perfect doesn't exsist. Once again I have that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach and say here we go again. But I'm not jumping to conclusions until there are concrete answers. I would think with all that has happened that these companies would be doing all they could to keep their products safe "but" and a big but at that if it's in supplements well...... Just look at what we humans are being fed and all the crap in our food. Once again it can be said that it's our government or lack of that allows this crap into this country. I am not supporting Canidae "but" if they have a problem they had better get their "poop in a group" and figure this out once and for all. And most important be truthful to their customers, because without customers they have no company. So if Canidae reads any of these posts, step up to the plate and please be truthful with people, it's all we want. When the time comes I just want my dogs to pass from old age and not poison.

4.  The letter... AND THIS ACTUALLY FLOORED ME!!!  ... makes strong hints that the "freind who sent the sample" to Expertox is... the owner of Kumpi!!!

i doubt that. tracing from the thread on the gsd forum leads to a different person.

However this turns out, it is really getting weird. No question the pfc's would prefer we didn't trust each other.

This thread is locked. There are too many unfounded allegations and too much speculation on both sides. It is off topic and it is going no where.

Please start new posts on the second testing thread.

I used to think that anyone doing anything weird was weird. I suddenly realized that anyone doing anything weird wasn't weird at all and it was the people saying they were weird that were weird.
