Too bad petlovers have to find out how much zinc was "excessive" by petowners testing and not from Nutro..

This just makes me so sick - when will these places get a conscience? Time to home cook 100% - can't risk my dog dying and for what?

Maybe this is why Nutro said it was "excessive" zinc...can't wait to see how they spin these numbers...

Please crosspost to other blogs, forums, twits...The more petlovers know the results and that petowners had to test the food to find this out... the better...

UH, Zinc?

Can somebody address the levels of Calcium, Phosphorus, Sulfur, Barium, Iron, Manganese from a nutriton standpoint too?

What the heck is this? Cat food made from goat/hog feed premix?  Wait. It "couldn't" be...isn't this supposed to be an place that only makes companion animal products?

It doesn't really matter if the other profiles are right, the zinc would kill them before any other problems came up from too much or too little of the other vit/minerals.

No sick cats?  They gotta be telling one big whopper!

Cos if I understood right, the upper range is going to be around 2300ppm on a dry matter basis and the "low range" on zinc is going to be around 270ppm/d.

I  hope more people are testing it!!

Sent this to Consumers Union/Consumer Reports and elsewhere. Very curious that my
June 3 zinc toxicity profile of a surviving cat eating another food ended up at the top
of the cat scale zinc "normal" range. Perhaps Nutro is not the only food involved here by
coincidence of other pet food companies using the same suppliers ... food for thought.

Nutro apparently beLIEves it can get away with anything and with complete impunity.

Wanted to hi-lite this from Don's site...

A receipt provided with the food we tested showed this bag was purchased a day after the recall was announced. It is our understanding the store had not been informed there was a problem with the food. Nutro doesn't appear overly concerned if a few more pets are killed by their poisoned food after a recall is announced, but who knows, maybe Nutro would be more agressive about getting its deadly products off store shelves if it knew there are concerned pet owners out there who will intentionally buy recalled products strictly for testing purposes. Pfpsa.org is more than willing to cooperate in any way possible with any lawfirm willing to pursue a class action against Nutro.
