If only this was in the name of several pet food companies, the raw pet food association....

http://naj.usjersey.com/Proteinresolution.html

"Now therefore be it resolved that the American Jersey Cattle Association and National All-Jersey Inc. endorse the immediate implementation of the true protein testing protocol throughout the industry and encourage all dairy industry cooperators to switch from total to true protein testing and reporting as soon as possible."

I've never seen any reports of raw food adulterated with 'fake' protein...just some of the processed stuff.  I guess I don't see how this relates to retail raw pet food.

Klondike, My mind is considering the NPN that could be in any supplements used in the raw foods. Like the L-lysine in Canada with cyanuric acid in it. In plain raw meat, no, I don't think NPN is an issue.

I looked at some of the raw brands and there is a little 'supplement creep' into a couple.  The reason I like mine is that they don't add high tech supplements.  But they're out there.  It is interesting that one of those brands is the first raw brand I tried and it didn't agree with my dogs.

The tough thing with Cushings is I think they are predisposed to pancreatitis, so I wonder if the fat content in the new food was a little higher than she could take?  Could have been the veggies, of course, too.  Too much irritating fiber?

I think the the condition may vary from day to day, to make it even tougher.
