There will be a remembrance candle glowing in our house, too. What a lovely idea.

Thank you, catbird.  I was about to post a reminder of this since I had suggested a while back that a candlelighting might be a way of remembering those dear pets lost to this sad, sad incident.  I had decided to light my candle at 7:00 pm my local time, but the time doesn't matter so much as the thought behind the act.  I did not lose a pet myself, but I will be thinking of all of you here and everyone across the country who suffered this great loss.

Thank you  Catbird.
My husband and I will light a candle  Sunday in our home in remembrance for all the babies lost, known and unknown.
And we will hold dear to us that day our dear living pets and give thanks for the joy they bring to our lives.

I think I will put a candle in each window.  Or maybe light one candle for every animal I know personally that was sickened or died.

JustMe,
If we want our fur babies added, should we send that directly to you via PM or should we start a topic for our guys in the memorial section?

kittylyda,

Members can start a new topic or send me a message.  Whichever you are more comfortable with.  Please post or send your information by Saturday, March 15th, noontime, Eastern Standard Time, if you want them included for March 16th.  Otherwise, I will add them on starting on the 18th when I am back on-line.   I will be off-line 3/16-3/18.

Thank you,

JustMe

I have received recall alerts from itchmo for the past year but just joined the forum today.  Am I too late to post my cat Boots who was seriously affected by the recall last year?  They mentioned her in all the newspapers on the day the recall came out since I'd posted elsewhere about her not eating and having eaten some recalled food.  When I was interviewed by media then I didn't realize her kidneys were affected (until she was at the vet a few days later) and she'd need sub Q fluids daily forever and would develop IBD in addition to her kidney problems as a result.  She is a brave survivor and I'd love to include her in any memorial.  Fortunately my other 4 cats who'd also eaten recalled foods (different batches) had not thus far developed CRF.

I really appreciate everything you do here at itchmo.  This is a life saving site!

Proud furmom of 5 cats and 5 chinchillas,

Do I need to post about Boots anywhere in particular or was posting about her here all I needed to do?
