Hi,  Have recently started feeding our 7 cats Weruva (paw lickin chicken and grandmas chicken soup seem to be the most popular).

Does anyone know, is the Weruva dog food exactly the same?  On their web site it appears that they are all listed under "dog/cat food"... so I was hoping to save money by buying the larger 14oz. cans (the "dog" size).

Is this the exact same food?  Wouldn't dog and cat food necessarily have different nutrients in it due to different requirements of dogs and cats?

Welcome stoverny!

They are definitely not the same.  For one, there is no taurine listed in the dog food ones, and there is in the cat food.

I agree, from this chart on their site, it looks like they might be the same- so I started looking at ingredients.

I had wondered about that also since the paw lickin chicken is in the dog section also in the 5.5 oz can. The owners are very good about responding to emails, so maybe we should contact them about it. Just remember that cats need higher protein, fat & taurine & B vitamins & lower carbs & Vit E.

Recently bought the Green Eggs Variety, will check into this one too.

Yep, unfortunately, I read the ingredients after reading this post.  I was hoping it would be true, but it is not.  However, its not the only food I buy.  So if you spuce a few lower cost varieties in there - you can even out the cost.

I haven't tried this yet, but I'm settling in slowly to what my regular canned foods will be - so I can then buy by the case.
