Using Gerber Baby Food

(1/2) > >>

5CatMom:
My vet recommended Gerber baby food to improve sick kitty's appetite.

So I just called Nestle/Gerber and asked how much moisture is in the food, 'cause it's not on the label, you know.

Would you believe, that information is PROPRIETARY!  Sure hope Nestle was recording the conversation that followed.

What the H _ _ L is wrong with these food companies?

I usually try to use Beechnut or Earths best, but there are some plain meats you can only get from Gerber. I'm not surprised at all by Nestle/Purina's attitude. If you recall they never got back to me in 2007 with test results. I had to have them done myself. And yes I did call & email multiple times. They also gave non answers when we were trying to find out which pfc's use Trouw .

5CatMom,

I personally use Beechnut Stage 1.
Gerber has 2nd foods which contain onion powder which does not have to be listed because of the small amount used.  Gerber also contains "LEMON JUICE CONCENTRATE (TO MAINTAIN NATURAL COLOR)".  My guys do not like the lemon juice and believe me you can smell it when you open the jar.

5CatMom:
Leslie and Peg,

Thanks so much.  Good to know about the onion powder.  Will get Beechnut or Earths Best instead.

I asked to speak to a manager, and let her know that the days of customers not asking questions about food are LONG GONE.

Which two products contain the onion powder, Peg?
