I want to start rotating canned wellness & friskies. How do you all rotate canned foods? you may be asking why i would want to rotate these 2. well some times it's difficult to get my order in time to start the new batch. Friskies is more widely available in stores in my area than the wellness. Thank you for your answers. akm3

I try to use something different at each meal [breakfast & dinner] each day. Punkin is so picky now that it works best with cans ,homecooked & raw [both homemade & commercial]. I also have to put Friskies treats or a little kibble on top of all wet food to get him to eat, or tuna water.

I usually use up one can at a time, but sometimes I give them something different each meal. Like I have three different cans open and the get each one once for each meal.

I followed the advice from another poster awhile back - I don't give the same thing each meal.  With 3 cats, I buy the larger cans (except Weruva), and end up with 2 cans in the Refrig.  Seems to be working well so far.

I started rotating after the Wellness problems (so its only recent).

I rotate wet food with the one regular kibble my cats get. My two cats eat one can a day between them, so they get a new flavor each day. I rotate 2 different brands, (merrick and almo nature, used to feed B.G. but they seemed to be really picky about that one) and many flavors of those brands, so the cats are getting.... hrmmm.... boy, maybe ten different flavors of wet food in all?

My pickier cat definitely has his favorites, and in the beginning used to only really eat the fish flavors, but he's gotten much better and eats whatever we give him now. They don't seem to have any digestive problems from having different food every day. We did a slow switch to get them off the corn-based food they were eating at the shelter, and once they were used to eating a higher protein food, I just gave them whatever each day, with no problems. Having one regular kibble might also help to regulate their tummies, possibly. I think the rotation is a really good idea. I know that most wet cat foods are complete diets, but I just don't like the idea of them eating the exact same thing day in and day out. I'm sure they don't like it either.
