No, not for me, LOL  It seems my mom is getting a new puppy.  Soooo, now the question is what food to start it out on.  Im thinking Natures Variety puppy food.  I would love hearing any other ideas although we are somewhat restricted on places to purchase from.  We have a Petco and a local groomer that carries some brands.  Any ideas on a good food?  I was also thinking Halo and maybe Lotus?

Sandi, dry food?

Dr. Tim's (Kinesis is changing to grain-free, I believe)
Red Paw
Annamaet
Fromm

No experience (no doggy)  Sad  Just companies I've liked (for cat foods), or read good things about.

Nature's Variety just had a recall. Fromm's is a hit here, although its adult. Earthborn is good, Verus , Natures' Logic. Has she thought about using a freeze dried raw ? Stella & Chewy's is good & Honest Kitchen is very easy also.

Oh thanks for the ideas, Sparty and Leslie!  I think maybe our Petco sells Earthborn, I will check all of them out to see if they are carried locally!   Whats your opinion of Wellness for dogs?

P.S.  Sparty, its OK if you dont have a doggie, I dont either, Im just looking for ideas from anyone on what you might feed a puppy if you had one.

Wellness is ok, but not as good as it used to be before the equity firm buy out. Witness the wellness canned cat food threads. Remy could never eat any Wellness, wet or dry. Something in it really bothered him.

How about Innova, California Natural, or Taste of the Wild. They all have good puppy formulas, I would also check out EVO, along with other grain free foods.

Natura was bought out by P&G & Taste of the Wild is made at Diamond & was part of that recent recall.

Another kind she is looking into is a new brand called Spring Naturals.  And she is going to check with the owner to see what she is using and if its a good food, maybe keep the puppy on that.  Thanks so much everyone, all ideas are appreciated!
