I happened upon this. The 2nd one - does this mean that this level of antibiotic is GRAS, for byproducts in the production of ethanol/distillers grain, that are used in petfood??

Methinks they're saying that the antibiotics are acceptable for use in the feed. Which is what most producers use in north America. I had posted a link to an episode of W5 (Canada) which focused on antibiotic-resistant pathogens on chicken. It's all a result of these GRAS practices. Scary. We'll be back to the middle ages in no time.

The first one also caught my attention. Chlorine Dioxide for the animals that provide the food for humans and in turn for pets also. This is used to purify drinking water among other things. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chlorine_dioxide#Safety
