Can you tell me what the YouTube man is saying?

Basically that even if your cell phone is turned off the fbi can still listen to anything you are saying. They can track it with the gps and turn on the mike, and listen to your conversations.

creepy isn't it.

OK, Martha, I'm even more left out of the modern era than you.? Can you tell me what the YouTube man is saying??
No you're not petslave. Grin Grin
I can only see the page....not click on anything!
Sorry, maybe I can find a text article for those of us that "are left outta the YouTube era".

I have an older cell phone & if it goes, doubt I will get a new one.? I hear the new ones have GPS tracking in them so they can locate you.? Mine doesn't, nor does my old car.? I don't want to enter the modern ages!

I never got a cell phone. Don't even use a portable. At least the phone I do have isn't one with the rotary dial. Grin Grin

Yes, those number can be very interesting at times.  Why so many people reading this particular post?  Why so many as GUESTS?   Must be the tracking info dialogue--hi, guys!

I was thinking of getting rid of my cordless phone, I guess they are very easy to listen in on.  Maybe a rotary isn't a bad idea--can't they judge the numbers you dial by those tones?

Being a former phone person, The answer is yes they can figure out where you dialed by the tones, they can even figure out the number on a rotary set. Just count the clicks, for those of us old enough to remember rotary dial.

Cell phones can be tracked by the internal gps which is always on, cordless can be picked up, land lines can be tapped. Being a former phone person, I can say this from experience.

YOU SHOULD NEVER SAY ANYTHING INCRIMINATING ON A TELEPHONE, NO MATTER WHICH KIND IT IS.

Good advice....neither should you write it on a picture postcard.....it might wind up on e-bay one day. Grin

db--I never got an answer on this one, will it work? Or is it just a 'get smart' play toy?

db in OMNI magazine yrs ago there was an article that stated they could have an ordinary wire in your tv set that a tech would not even know was in there (if you needed your tv fixed) that they could watch and listen to you direct from your tv. So now with 2009 being the deadline yr for the analog signal to disappear and then everyone would need a converter to have the digital signal convert thru their analog tv in order to watch it - dont fall for that one. Just read on rense.com that all you will need if you have an older set is a pair of rabbit ears to receive the HDTV signal. By the time they do this cable and satellite dishes just to exist will be so expensive no one will be able to afford these two luxuries.

Db, you have not addressed this issue, yet

Regarding db's pic above--I found out what that little robotic bug does.  I can't find the original article, but this is from wordpress.  Totally creepy--would you let them put that thing inside you?  I love how they cloak all this new technology in announcements of how helpful it will be for us all, when in actuality, they most likely have much more sinister ideas plans for it.

"The robot measures 2cm in length by 1cm in diameter and can deliver drugs, collect data and treat affected body parts with a range of different attachments.  The idea of a beetle moving around inside your body may be the stuff of horror films. But scientists believe an insect-shaped robot could be a major weapon in the fight against cancer.  The device, just under an inch long, is designed to be inserted into the body through a small incision.  Once inside, doctors can control its movements and direct it to areas where investigations are needed.  It would be able to capture images through a tiny camera placed in its "head" - and could deliver drugs through a special injecting device.  Early versions have also included tiny forceps for taking tissue samples. In future these nippers could be used to snip out cancerous cells.  Less than half an inch across, the metal device is encased in plastic to protect its components while in the body. It is connected to a computer by a cable through which it relays data and images."

aaaahhhhhhhhhh Embarrassed That is so scary!! I thought you were doing a horror movie type thing.  Shocked
Wear earplugs. I totally do. I love hearing my own heart beat while I fall asleep. It's like sleeping in a tomb.
I think it jams the wax down though. I poke them way down. That'll keep your brain from being bored into.
Sleep carefully!
