All these photos of water really are very refreshing.
Carolo, your photos always have wonderful dark and light contrast.
Trudy, that's a beautiful pond you have and that photo really is exceptional. I love the colors in it.
I see that heron, Klondike. There's one that stays in a pond in another neighborhood not far from us, I think maybe it just lives there.

What a gorgeous setting! This picture makes me want to pack my bags and go there today! Gee, Klondike, if you hadn't told us about the heron, you could have run a contest a la Cassie. "How many are fishing in this picture?"

Klondike, I'm enjoying the photo of "3" fishermen! Air feels cooler just while viewing. Nice colors, too. Here's another shot that at least has water in it for cooling off on hot summer day. I called it "Journey's End." It's the bottom, or last pond in a series of ponds and waterfalls.

That's just beautiful, Carolo, and restful to look at. I wonder if anyone has ever studied the effect of looking at tranquil photos on blood pressure. (Bet it goes down.) Catbird, I wish I had thought of a contest. Might have been a tough one.

I know there have been such studies done with aquariums. That is why so many doctors' and dentists' offices, as well as ERs, have them. When I had a day surgery several years back, I spent some time lying on my back in a pre-op area. On the ceiling were posters of tranquil water and nature scenes. I'm sure they had a beneficial calming effect.

What great summer photos, Trudy! Thanks for these! I tried to grow butterfly bushes here a few times, but the winters were just too cold for them.

Nice photos! We have butterfly bushes here. We just saw a nice one on a walk yesterday and I was thinking that was what they were named...now I'm sure!

Cool photos, Trudy. The "Butterfly in Motion" really captures the fast-paced activity of these critters!

Trudy, thanks for sharing the butterfly [edited]. We don't have any at home or around the general area. I like your "Butterfly in Motion." Do you ever see a group of butterflies at the same time around this [edited]? At butterfly gardens they remind me of a flock of birds.

Great roses, Klondike! Those banana skins must be good for them.
Around here, rose-growing has been very difficult the last two summers, due to a huge invasion of Japanese beetles. I don't have roses, but they have eaten half the leaves off my big mountain ash tree. People with roses are fighting a losing battle, too.
