It's been so long since I've seen a little green frog I had stopped even thinking of them! Wonder how many species used to be commonplace that fall into same category for me. Don Earl, thx for the "Frog Days of Summer!" As for DH, since I have to pick up after mine, no wonder someone might think him a four footed housemate!

Beautiful picture, carolo. Such a peaceful and relaxing setting! What is that white on the water? It makes the picture very unique looking.

Mandycat, thanks! Happy you like it. As for the water...the white is just a reflection of clouds in the water made into swirls by action of fish that you don't see. Had good reflection of sky on the surface. Shows up better in full sized image.

LOL catwoods! I think mine is DMH right now--I have been telling him he needs a haircut.
So many of the recent pictures on this thread show water. I have found them very refreshing to look at several times a day in the heat wave we have been experiencing for the past couple of weeks! I've taken quite a few marina walks in my imagination along Klondike's path. And carolo, the fish photo brings on a state of tranquility when I look at it. I can feel myself relaxing and saying, "Aaahhh."

That is a wonderful photo, Carolo! The cloud pattern is fascinating.
I think I like looking at the fish pond more than I would taking care of it, so there is a benefit to public gardens over private ownership. (Unless you're as rich as Bill Gates and can hire people to care for your pond.)

Here is a picture of My Koi in my pond. It's not real clear, because I tried to get as close as possible. But I love sitting here and just watching them. and i do have a small waterfall, it just didn't show up in this.

Pretty fish, Trudy! Fish are indeed very relaxing to sit and watch. I used to have an aquarium and it just lent a very pleasant atmophere to the whole room.

This is your pond, Trudy? How beautiful. And what a stunning photo! I love the way the reflections on the water overlay the fish, making some of them look almost transparent. The picture has the feel of a watercolor painting. If you ever enter photography contests, this would be one to send in for sure. It's a work of art!

I love your mystical Koi photo, too, Trudy. I think your cat photos are really special and enjoy those as you know. I hope all your fish trouble is resolved now. I remember kb gave you some detailed advice on that. When I read all that is when I knew I'd be over my head with a fish pond. I've never had an aquarium, either, but I understand why ponds and aquariums could be relaxing to watch. I'm sure most of the time things go smoothly. Here's a photo of some guys enjoying fish in another way on the Hood Canal. If you look closely, you'll see a Great Blue Heron fishing just a little further down from the guys and closer to the shore.
