Dog keeps baby safe with her own litter!  This rather small dog found a baby in a field, left there shortly after birth by a very confused 14 year old girl.  This little dog had a litter of puppies and upon finding the baby drug him back into her own nest with the puppies and evidently nurtured him until her very astonished owner came upon the unlikely scene.

In the article, it said that the dog was so upset about the publicity that she has stopped eating. I pray that this will not be hurtful to the dog and her puppies in the long run. Hope the owner has enough sense to keep the dog and her pups indoors away from the chaos.

The owner should just take some pics of her hero dog and give them out to curious folks who want to see the real thing. They are disturbing the natural rythum of the dog wanting to care, nurse and protect her babies. Probably are confusing the heck out of the lil mother dog.

What a wonderful dog! I hope they leave her in peace now and let her take care of her own babies.
