Had a few tornado warnings here.......herded the cats down to the basement and they were not happy....they didn't have dinner Roll Eyes  Fortunately nothing came down, but you could see the spirals in the clouds........facinating and frightening at the same time.

Lots of huge branches down.......

All is quiet now.  Still raining but not hard.  Still very warm and swampy.
6.25 inches of rain according to the rain gauge.

Thanks all for your well wishes....all cats have been fed and the snoring is deafening.   Grin

We were on the west side, heavy rains.  Winds seem to be diminishing finally.  Hope everyone is safe.

Peg, that must have been scary.

It's been very hot with tropical humidity since yesterday.  Yuck.

Good to hear from peg and JustMe! Any time they say tornadoes, I get very anxious. Peg that was a scary but amazing sighting, I've never even seen the funnels, except on TV. Although I've heard one going over the house up in the air - years ago.

Beautiful morning here.....had alot of rain and winds but nothing horrible...we slept through most of it...I do have damage to my beautiful sunflowers but the roof stayed on....hard to believe how humid and gross it was yesterday and now today is gorgeous....when I take the time to fill every container available with water----we don't lose power...must be the inverse power/water law..... Roll Eyes

Now we all await Ike.... Sad

and since tornados were mentioned...as 5catmom "knows" my weather history......We drove to Georgia for a family wedding May 1993....The kids were 7 and 11 so we took them to Six Flags...It was a beautiful sunny day and while we were in line for the roller coaster (which my 7 y/o daughter did NOT want to ride-but we knew she would love it when she did it) we heard a siren and then the ride attendent screamed "all take cover"...without completely knowing what was going on we were directed to the rest rooms beside the massive wooden roller coaster...Mike and my son went into the mens' room and Ali and I went into the ladies'.....I heard someone yell in that 3 tornados were on their way and to prepare....well, prepare for what I thought...HELP I thought...so I screamed "Help Us We are from RI and deal with Snow...Help us..." and kept screaming while covering Ali with my body under the downspout of the sink...the lights went out and that is when I screamed---"Somebody tell me what to do I need Help I am from RI" just then a very nice lady next to me said "just pray maam...pray...that is all you can do"....Well, that was not good enough I said...I have to do something...then I heard Mike at the door yelling to come out and he took me and Ali into the mens' room where we huddled under a urinal....unfortunately, me falling apart gave my daughter some baggage as she watched the weather channel whenever there were clouds on a sunny day....for several months Roll Eyes...I was completely embarassed by my behavior...and Mike still married me that August... Embarrassed

Power is back on.  That was quick!  Last time (spring) it took 3 days.

I don't have a full basement, just a partial. So I had crates and carriers ready.  We go next door to the full finished basement.

I don't know how much rain we had but there are lots of branches down.  And lots of deer out there chewing on them.  Chow will want to go out.  He loves the deer.  I hate Lyme ticks, and they're probably all over the yard.  Sad

I'm very glad to read everyone is OK!

Glad everyone has survived Hannah! We had a couple of hours of nice rain early this morning, so thanks for sharing . . . we really needed it!

Thanks, too, for checking in so we all know you're safe.

I'm glad to hear everyone is OK, and has electricity!  I have seen those rotating clouds (here in WI I average at least one sighting per year), and know how scary yet amazing that can be.

With Hanna gone, I'm hoping the glorious fall-like weather we've had here the past two days will work its way east and give you all some relief from the sticky heat.

Big whew of relief that everyone is OK! I need a "head in sand" emoticon as I don't even want to think about Ike yet. I need to, though.....
