I haven't kept up with Hanna's path, but it looks like it's really going farther north than most. My brothers are in SC but looks like it hit at the state line and was mostly wind and rain with no major damage. Good luck everyone!
Ike sounds like it's going to a bad one.

Thinking of all of you in the path of Hanna. That would I believe also include Trudy (looks like maybe the worst is over for her), Mandycat, Mainecoonpeg, and StillGoingNutz, and possibly straybaby in NYC, in addition to those listed above.
Stay safe, everyone!

Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. Hopefully everyone on the Eastern Seaboard will get some much-needed rain and not much else. I know they needed it badly on the NC/SC border where Hanna made landfall. Just hope my Sunset Beach (teen stomping grounds ) didn't suffer too much erosion. And then there's Ike. Heading for us on the gulf again. I hate hurricane season!!

Hanna is here in Maryland! We've had lots of rain and some wind, but wind has not been too bad until now. It seems to be picking up as the eye of Hanna moves over the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Flooding could be a problem for those very near water, but I am safe from that. I think it is moving slower than predicts, hence more rain. But, overall, I think the effects will be pretty minimal in my location. There have been reports of trees down and electricity out, but that kind of thing is always spotty with this kind of storm. Hope everyone south of me has fared well. My son is in Northern Virginia and think they have had more of a problem than me thus far. Will be thinking of all of you north of me as Hanna moves on. Stay safe!

Thinking of all of you in the path of Hanna. Praying that everyone stays safe. Will be relieved when it's over and everyone has checked back in. They even said on the news that Hanna will go over to England.

Outerbands of Hanna are here along coastal NY. She's BIG
Winds started about an hour ago and they are sustained at 20 mph. Rain started 1/2 hour ago and we've already had over an inch.
She is forecast to stay mainly over the water when she passes Maryland and Deleware. That means I'll be on the eastern side of the storm where the winds and rain will be wicked.
Interesting, is the fact that the rain waters are incredibly warm, almost hot. I got totally soaked just taking trash to the pails which I put in the garage to keep them from flying around.
I just hope we don't lose electricity. We were without a phone for 4 days due to old wiring. I went through withdrawl. If we have no TV........DH will turn into a basket case.
Wishing all those in Hanna's path a safe journey.

Weird about the warm rain, MCP. Although I suppose it is a tropical storm. We had the leftovers of Gustav a couple of days ago here, but it had cooled down by the time it got this far north. Although I did notice odd clouds of a type that we don't often have here, about 8 hrs before it hit. Saw the same thing from the remnants of Katrina in 2005.
I'm glad that MCP and Mandycat are well, supplied with electricity, and able to post!

well,it's coming our way...so there goes the "see-thru" roof on the old house....bummer....I'll take pix if what we think is gonna happen...happens... Just hate to spend any money on it as we are going to tear it down...although after tonight we may NOT have to... We are about 10 miles inland so we are probably okay....I hope... we also got over 2 inches of rain overnight last night (I thought it was Hanna) so I guess there is a chance we will just float away....!! lol..

Maybe you'll have to move into the new house sooner than you planned.

Since we don't get many Tropical Storms or Hurricanes here in Maryland, I just witnessed what my daughter in Florida has pretty often over the years. As the "eye" area of the storm passed over my region, the winds picked up a lot, but the sun actually came through and you could see some blue sky with white filmy clouds moving very, very quickly. I had always heard that the eye was actually a calm part of the storm, and it was actually the eye wall that was so dangerous. Now, that has passed and we are back to clouds as more rain and the back side of the storm moves through. Wind still pretty strong, but not "damaging". Good luck up north! Stay safe. Carol, if your winds are about like ours down here throughout, you might not have to watch your roof blow away. I hope that is the case for you. However, these things are so unpredictable from one area to another. Praying for the best outcomes for all.

Hoping for the best for everyone! I always feel the air become warmer and sopping when the tropical storms come, Peg, but I've never actually been out in the rain and experienced the warmth of it. Glad that everyone is OK so far.

4 inches of rain and counting, plus the 3 we had last night as well.
It is pitch black outside and somewhat akin to a swamp.
The eye is due to pass over us at 9 pm EDT
Hanna's track looks like she will veer off to the east . Does not look like Carol will experience the eye and the wicked winds that come after. Relatives 50 miles east of me have no power.
