Jupiter and Saturn taken with a very old point and shoot. You can see the shape of Saturn's rings! My hands were freezing by the time I got this shot.

I was so happy to see the hooded mergansers again! I haven't seen them for a couple of years and was afraid they'd never come back.


I saw this weird kind of hard moss on one of my runs. It looked like mini succulents.


It had an interesting texture.

The mergansers are so cool.  And I wonder if that is a type of lichen?  It makes an interesting close-up!

Neat dryish texture on the nubby moss/lichen. Almost looks like broccoli, kinda.

Love the mergansers. Do they stay for the year?

They are usually here for fall and winter but there has been a few times where they have stayed all year round.
