I can't seem to find a current Winter thread, hope this isn't a duplicate.  We saw some interesting ice 'hats & skirts' on the rocks in the river New Year's day that I haven't seen before.

Winter, winter go away! Yes, I agree we can just skip winter altogether. We are back into the deep freeze below zero again here in MN. Wind chills near -30 again. Maybe lots of snow for Monday night in some parts in southern MN. I hope it stays there!

Petslave, those are some interesting rock pictures.

Really great ice photos, petslave, ice makes for fantastic pictures! Even so, when we get the Arctic chill in a few days and probably get some ice on the creek, you won't find me there taking pictures. I hate winter and cold weather too! I did get some pics of high water yesterday after heavy rains. They're still in the camera, though.

Boy that ice sure makes interesting photos!  Great shots, petslave.

Northeast bracing for another of these "blockbuster blizzards" tomorrow night and all through Tuesday. Now they say some of us could get 16-30 inches and hurricane force winds. Coastal areas warned about flooding. Sigh.  Tongue We just had our first real snow...a few inches, although mixed with rain. Thought we would dodge the bullet this year. No way.
They are saying to fill car gas tanks, get cash ahead of time (if power goes out pumps, atms, etc won't work). Batteries, food, cat food, manual can openers, etc.
I'm already tired of this storm and it hasn't even hit yet!
Please stay safe everyone that is in the path of this thing!

I have heard about this storm and I'm thinking of you all. I hope that there will be far less snow than they are predicting. I know how awful blizzards can be, and how much a person's life gets messed up by them. That much snow is scary.

I hope that the storm does not live up to its prediction!  For all Itchmo members in that area, stay safe and warm!  We are going to just get a little side swipe from the worst of it here in Maryland, but 2 storms one after the other.  2-4 inches Monday then 3-6 on Tuesday.   I can handle that, but would not want the 2-3 feet possible further North of here!   Tongue

So Far they are predicting 14-20" here . It's already a mess of 1/2 melted snow & ice & mud from the last 2 storms  Angry Sad
