My family and I are untouched by the storms. However, the 2 tornados did hit very, very close, within 20 miles or so from where I live.

Even though I did not know them, it is so sad that a family lost their 2 year old son and that their 4 yr old daughter is still in critical condition.

That was a close call, MarySmith!  Glad to hear that you and yours are OK.  But very sad about the children.  The news we had here just said that the 2-year-old had died, but not that his sister was critically injured.  How horrible.

Here are some links to our local TV stations - some have galleries of pictures still on line.

Homeowners still hunting for pets in wake of Hugo tornado

HUGO -- Some families that survived the tornado in Hugo are pawing through the tornado debris in Hugo looking for lost pets.

Recovery leaders say at least 16 pets went missing when the storm hit the St. Paul suburb on Sunday. All but six of them have since been recovered.

The majority of animals that lived in homes with little damage stayed in their houses after the storm, with cats often curling up in crumbling walls.

I'm so glad everyone on here is safe. When i heard about the little boy, i just felt so sad. all of us that have these horrible storms know there is just nothing you can do.
And ours this year hit so close together. usually they don't seem to do that. Now i'm afraid of a thunderstorm.
I just pray no more will come anywhere this year.

I'm hoping and praying for no more severe storms this year, too, Trudy. The devastation, especially when lives are lost, is overwhelmingly sad. Once it gets hot and stays hot, the tornado season is usually over, but the weather patterns now take surprising turns.

Mary, glad you are OK.

Catwoods, you're right. Once the temps stay the same, i don't worry so much.
Our hurricane season starts June 1st. But We don't usually get them bad until Aug. or Sept. And then, at least you have a warning and can buckle down.

We are under a tornado watch. as long as it doesn't turn into a warning, i'll be alright.

Northwest Connecticut.  Just had penny sized hail 60 mile an hour gusts.  We never get this.

Sending good wishes and prayers to everyone in Trudy's area, and the Northeast, for safety during storms.

We're doing fine here.
Arlo and Lesliek, what kind of weather are you all having? Is everyone alright? How many states got bad storms? I guess You have your power, that's good.
The weather has gone crazy.

MN had more storms tonight - but I'm safe as they have all moved out of my area for now.
