Thanks, Trudy.  It looks from the radar as though my city is through the worst of it now, and it's moving off.  We had heavy storms, but no tornado, thankfully.  I too hate it when these come during the night.

Catbird, I heard there was a tornado in Wisconsin tonight and immediately thought of you.  There were 39 tornadoes across the country today!  They scare the pants off of me.  Hope you have a peaceful night.

Klondike we are now having big thunderstorms with lots of thunder and some lightning. Big sounding boomers and very hard steady rain...now sounds like rain is letting up but still steady with more boomers sounding now

We had very strong winds of 40-45 mph later on in the evening, but no more storms.  Things got very quiet about midnight.

This morning there are bunches of those big winged silver maple seeds all over everything, blown off by the winds last night.  I love those trees, but there are a lot of them in my neighborhood, and some years I actually have to shovel the seeds off my driveway!  Right now a chipmunk is on my deck eating some of the seeds, much to Cameo's fascination.  She is absolutely quivering with desire, since there is only a screen door and about 5 feet between her and the chipmunk.   Cheesy

Glad to read that you are OK, Catbird. I haven't seen the news yet about what areas did get hit. This is a terrible year for storms.

Sadly, there were a number of deaths in Iowa and one in Minnesota.  Several people are still missing in Minnesota, too.  The storms weakened by the time they got here, but so horrible for those states to the west of us.

I have been thinking about MarySmith since the tornados in Minnesota, since I think I remember that she lives there.  It does look like she logged in today, so hopefully all is well for her.
