Well my hair is history & on its way to make wigs for cancer patients. I couldn't take it with this heat anymore. 13" being donated & about 19" off totall. I weighed myself before & after & lost 2 lbs with the ponytail gone.

Leslie, good for you donating your hair like that. 19 inches, that is a lot! I hope you don't miss it; it will grow back though.

Mine was cut Monday, and I feel much cooler, but I didn't have enough to donate.

2 pounds....yikes!!  That's a lot of hair.  That's a wonderful thing to do.

Enjoy your new hairstyle.

Wow - that was a lot of hair. I think mine is long when it    is about 1 inch long on the back of my neck. I love short hair!

Wow what a great thing to do Leslie. Now that your 2 lbs. lighter and maybe when the heat breaks maybe we'll see that memorial to Shelly.....

I did that before I moved to Hawaii. Cut off about 2.5 feet of hair.
It also went to cancer patients - Locks of Love- I think.
Should have thought to weigh myself.

I'd had hair that was probably longer than Leslie's for many years, and then one day decided to get it all cut off.  I could not believe how much lighter my head felt!  I'm not surprised that you lost two pounds.  (Since that time, I've let it grow, although not quite as long, and cut it all off again twice.)  So much easier to take care of when it's not so long.  I don't think you will regret it.

Oh, been there!  Hope you love it.

I'm just not a short-hair girl.  I was so tired of being hot a couple of years ago that I cut it off, and I liked it for about 4 weeks.  I've only had "trims" since then.  And the shorter hair really didn't get me any cooler Huh  I am always with a ponytail now.  Yuck.  Can't get no satisfaction Grin   If I had no vanity, I would go with a boy cut, but I would look like cwap. My hair is VERY short, so no instant weight loss to be had here!   Cheesy  However, I am very sensitive to the heat and my hair is wet all the time even with being so short.  I one time had very long hair also, but am very glad to have it short these days.  Brave decision for you, Leslie.  But it is nice to know that your hair will be put to a very good use.  Enjoy your new "do"!   Smiley

I keep my hair about shoulder length and in the summer, rather than a ponytail, I use those big hair clips. They work great and it keeps the hair off my neck. (Reminds me, I need to get a haircut today).

This is the 3 rd time I've donated it too. Its still to my shoulders so I can pull it back, but wow does it feel lighter. I've only had it shorter than this once, but its too curly to do anything with without a little length.I don't know if I'll let it get that long again though because its so hard to take care of. The bad thing is with how fast it grows,I'll need a trim in 4 weeks at the latest.
