Short story- bad weather- big rain- flooding- big lightning- big wind swept through Massachusetts. Looked like a monsoon out there this morning. But then  a real actual tornado suddenly hit the city of Revere, Ma (north of Boston) this morning with many downed trees power lines, lots of damage and roofs blowing off. Nobody hurt though. But that is not the western or mid part of the state where these things happen every now and then, it's next to the Atlantic ocean !!! Yipes! There have been strong storms containing possibility of tornados this far east all along the New England coast towns for a few weeks now this summer. And a couple times the Weather Service investigated what turned out to be microbursts. But this was the real deal the National Weather Service is now reporting! I just read that there hasn't been a tornado seen in that county since 1950!
We are south and west of there and the sun is out. They are predicting more big storms and wild weather later this afternoon marching west to east through New England.
This is so weird for so far east.

I line in the next city to Revere and it was such a shock to turn on the news and hear this.  Thank God no one was injured.  We had a massively bad thunderstorm but fortunately no major winds.  We just don't get tornados here so really scary!

They just announced it as an EF2.  Not like the midwest, but quite enough for a densely populated city. Revere City Hall got hit, lots of smashed windows.

Yikes about the tornado!  EF2 is bad enough! I hope the severe weather has finished up and moved out to sea, so that you can have a peaceful night.

So glad you are okay, Meowli.  Tornadoes in that area is strange indeed, but an EF2 is pretty strong for an area that doesn't get many.  We don't get many here either, but they are usually EF0 or EF1 when we do, and they can cause quite a bit of destruction.

Bizarre weather, they are showing the damage on the news now which looks pretty scary. Nobody was seriously hurt though, which was amazing, and power has already been restored to much of the area affected.

I'm glad you are both ok!  Tornadoes are very scary.

We have a town out by the power plant that seems to be a tornadoe magnet.  so naturally they put the power plant RIGHT THERE.  I remember on the weekend that the movie Twister was released, we had a string of tornadoes hit.

My morning doves are gone.   Sad  It was really weird.  She had the chicks, and I always saw an adult on the nest, but never saw them feeding the chicks.  Then the adults were gone, and it was just the two chicks.  they were quiet and inactive, but alive.  And now the chicks are gone, and the nest is empty.

Last year, the female stuck around, called to her chicks to come out of the nest and when they left the nest, she knocked the nest off the rafters and started a new one.  So I'm a bit unsure of what this change in behavior signifies.  Maybe just inexperience, since I originally thought this female was a young one from last year.
