Must be nice to be super talented. Not only do you design and create unique cakes, etc. but now also an architect and designed her kitchen. Way to go, way to go!

Alek0,

You have such a gift.  Your pieces are absolutely breathtaking. Do you make these for shows, others, or is it just a passion of yours?
They are simply fabulous!  Thank you so much for sharing and glad your fingers have healed.  Hope to see more of your work when you have time!

GORGEOUS!

I just love your sugar pieces! If you have more pictures of your handy work, I'm sure we would all love to see them.

I also love your blue marble counter tops, wish mine were made of that.

Thank you so much!

About chinese medicine - it can be excellent, and it can be a disaster. Those prepackaged products are usually having more consistent results, and this burns ointment has been wonderful.

And or cakes, here are some more of the recent ones. I usually make one cake a week, since my bf likes  sweet stuff and I like to make and decorate cakes.

This week couldn't do any fancy decoration since I burnt my hands, and after burns improved there simply wasn't enough time to complete a gumpaste topper, so I just baked some lemon tuiles for the top and the corner of the plate:

Some previous ones:

Some more sugar work and also gelatin flower in gelatin:

These are all beautiful!  I love the cactus and the crystal flower, leaf & butterfly.  You need to sell these, or at least the pictures of them!

Absolutely outstanding - the lil prickly one - wow!

Aleko where did you find that particular color of blue marble for your counters? It is so unique, never have seen blue marble quite like it.

Thank you!

JJ, the marble was bought in a local shop in Hong Kong, supposed to be import from Czech republic. Blue was quite hard to find, navy blue or pale blue are quite common, but I wanted something different. Finding matching borders for white kitchen and bathroom tiles (blue flowers in similar shade as marble) was also difficult.

During the works I went through some periods of intense doubt wondering whether I'll like the result (first time I've done anything like it), but I guess it was worth it in the end. The contractor was grumbling a lot about cat specific items (hidden sockets and cables, separate switch for the socket, cat flap and stairs next to the toilet for the bathroom, those wall platforms for cats in living room and bedroom) but he did what I wanted even though he just couldn't get it why would I want to hide all the sockets expected to be in permanent use and just have a few extra ones for temporary items if needed, and each of those also with a switch. Considering how active Sophie turned out to be, that was good planning.

No - thank you aleko! Now I know what to ask for when changing my counter tops.

On a separate note - on our local news had a story about a local baker in China who is baking/making an edible christmas tree. Wouldn't be you by any chance, would it? Since your so talented you came to mind while story was on....

Thank you again!

JJ, you are so funny. I am not a professional baker, so no chance of baking a Christmass tree (small home use oven) though it is an idea Smiley

Only edible "christmas tree" I made was a savoury version oout of spinach pancakes, filled with goat cheese and toasted pine nuts, decorated with grated parmesan cheese, cheese ribbons, cherry tomatoes and mini pepper:
