Thank you for these bug. They are just stunning and a bit patriotic!! I love the red, white and blue. Just beautiful.
Everything here has either died or gone dormant. We have not had any rain in 3 weeks and the temps have been in the hundreds with humidities running 20-30%!!!! Almost desertlike.

Lawns scorched around here too (MA). Considering all the flooding in the northeast this spring, feels strange to hear that many towns have bans on water use for lawns, etc. From flood to drought in a matter of a few months! We are supposed to get rain tonight, though. The flowers are truly beautiful!

Thanks, everyone. I used to hate gardening but now I really like it. Kinda like cooking. I guess I got more domestic as time wore on. Up until now it's been rain, rain, rain. Finally, we've had some nice sunshine and warm weather this last week and things have really been growing well. It's funny about my GO USA pot. I noticed that, too, but not until after I planted it and had a look. The green spike in the center are chives so sometimes it's tall and sometimes I need some for dinner so I give it a haircut.
I hope the heat lets up for you guys and you get some rain. We had a couple of extremely hot and humid days here and I wound up spending them at home indoors. Boring. I'd rather be out bike riding but not in weather like that.

Its weird, we had a very wet spring & then 90's & 100's ,no rain & mostly low humidity. Everything either got root rot or totally burnt. The few veggies & fruits that survived are all extremely sweet though.

bug you did real good with your pretty flowers. Same here two years in a row - bake, bake, bake and mostly everything fries to a crisp unless you have 70% shade to shield the plants. No money to dress up my yard w/flowers this year, ahh but can always come here and look at bug's flowers and envision my garden....

Well, folks. I started my bathroom demolition today, so don't be concerned if I'm not on here as much as usual. The tiles came off the walls quite nicely but getting through an inch of drywall/concrete/plaster is a bit of a challenge. Got my little 5 lb Thor hammer, a wonderbar, some chisels, a respirator, gloves, goggles and a whole lot of gumption. Dh is at work and will help with the clean up at the end of each day. Don't tell me I'm crazy because it's too late. I'll take some time out each day if I can to catch up but I already know I'm falling behind on some threads. More flower pictures will come -- unless you'd rather see bathroom demo pictures instead .
