The Boston Pops concert is one of my favorites, too. Being there over the Fourth is on my 'wish list' also.

With the unusually warm weather we are having here, I actually have some peonies that are worth taking pics of!   Kiss

Those pictures are just beautiful, Sandi!  Peonies here have been done for a month.  I especially like the very glossy dark foliage on the pale pink one.  And that deer picture looks so restful and peaceful.

Sandi,
I love Peonies!  Your pictures are really beautiful!  I have just one Peonie plant, a white one, that was already in the garden when we moved here 42 years ago.  It blooms faithfully every year.  The flowers have been gone for a long time here, and we had so much rain while they were blooming that they got beaten down and torn up so I didn't get to enjoy them as much as I would have liked.  I look forward to them every year.  Yours look very healthy!  Thanks for sharing.   Smiley

The deer looks right at home resting there.  Good picture!

Sandi K,
I love your peony pictures! I grew up in Michigan and my Mom always had peony bushes. My husband also had peony bushes around when he was a kid. I now live in the southeast and peonies don't grow here...too hot I guess.
I miss them...they are beautiful.
Another thing I miss is conifer trees. Where I grew up, we had the most beautiful conifers. We do have some conifers down here, but the beautiful, tall, majestic conifers I recall from my youth are not very common here.
Thanks for posting the peony pics...

Sandi, what gorgeous pictures!  I just love the color of your peonies, we don't get them around here.  Do deer eat peonies?  Maybe she's just waiting for you to leave so she can get a treat .Grin   I would love to look outsde my home and see such beauties of nature. Everything here is dead and brown, this is the second year we have been in a drought.  It is such a pleasure seeing other places that are green and beautiful.  Thanks for sharing them.

Nice photos!  Your deer looks kinda wide, Sandi.  Is she preggers or do you just have a lot of good deer munchies in your yard?   Wink

Thanks everyone, ours are just done blooming which shows the difference in everyone's seasons, we are always later than most everyone.  This was one of the first years where rain didnt tear them up so I was able to see the whole growing time with them for a change.  LOL JM, I hadnt thought about whether the deer is pregnant, I have a couple of pics of her standing....Tesla, we've had no problems with the deer trying for the peonies but they do love tulips!  I gave up on tulips after having them mowed down for several years in a row, one time I even yelled at the deer to stop eating the tulips and all she did was yank a tulip out of the ground when I startled her and stood there eating it while staring at me.   Grin But I can grow daffodils and they dont like those....

This one she is just getting up from lying down and is streeeetttcching..... Smiley

Great shots, Sandi!  It's the squirrels here that eat the tulips, but they don't like daffodils either!

Those peonies are gorgeous! Those are great deer pictures, that's just a wonderful, beautiful place to live! The deer does look a little more filled out than most I've seen, but I'm Huh too.

Great pics of your peonies and that deer in your back bank. With a cooler than usual start to summer here my periwinkle bush actually had flowers on it twice for a change which is so pretty to see.

We recently took a short day trip, to some nearby gardens/woods.  We were surprised to happen upon this fellow, in the late afternoon.

That deer does look very healthy, and a bit wide.  I wonder if she's going to bring a baby or two into the yard soon.  Wouldn't that be exciting!  (well, not for the garden plants)

Great owl pic, Spartycats!  Do you know what kind it is?  At first I thought barred owl, but they have dark eyes and your owl looks like it has yellow eyes.  Only other owl it looks like in my western bird book is the great grey, but it looks too small for one of those.
