Just to get started...

This is a bottle gentian that DH photographed on a walk in the marsh on Friday.  For those of you who don't know bottle gentians, these are the full flowers, not just buds.

I don't know about these, but these are stunning flowers. This must be where gentian violet comes from?

Those are pretty cool flowers!  I've never seen any before.

I saw the maple trees around me are starting to turn.  Reds this year!  Cheesy  Must be the end/beginning of the 7 yr cycle.

Goregeous! But I'm not ready for it, either.

Last week all the honey locusts suddenly turned yellow here, followed by many of the ashes over the weekend. Today, it is raining golden leaves, but I'm just not able to accept the idea of bare trees.

Oh, those pics are just beautiful!  Things are changing here, too.  I guess there's no stopping it!  Tongue

Gorgeous reflection and that bridge is really interesting!  Did you get a new camera to play with?

Our luck finally ran out today.  There have been numerous hail storms this summer but they all just barely missed us.  Today we got it!  We will need a new roof, new house paint, 4 new window screens, a new hummingbird feeder and swing, and new glass in our coach light.  The tree bark is missing on our front ash tree and all of the flowers we still had are gone, along with most leaves on all of the bushes.  I would show pics but it's too depressing!  arghhhh

It was pretty scary when it hit.  I thought for sure the windows were going to break.  Thank goodness they didn't but I can see my neighbor's skylight is busted.  The hail was quarter and marble sized.

I'm kind of regretting that $5000 insurance deductible right now!  sigh

Ouch, Fizzy! I'm glad you (and your windows) are okay. Will they be able to get all the repairs done before winter?

Thanks, GKit.  The roofer is coming tomorrow to take a look at it.  At least I was smart enough to call right away before they get slammed with calls from people just getting home from work tonight!  I've got a call and email into my insurance agent.  I'm sure she's slammed, too.  Hopefully we can get the roof done before winter, the painting might need to wait until spring.
