bob's red mill

http://www.bobsredmill.com/

not all of their products are from the USA, but a majority are. i emailed about beans and they sent me a very nice complete email back about where all their beans were from generally along with a few other things. and they were prompt! i use their products and if i have a question about where they're from, i just email.

Lundberg Rice out of California.  Yummy!

http://www.lundberg.com/

fresh/frozen clams (northeast)

grass fed products:

http://www.eatwild.com/

csa/farmers markets/ranchers/etc

http://www.localharvest.org/

no matter where you live, if you think you may want to join a CSA, look NOW! they are already taking sign-ups here (brooklyn, ny) for the 2 i'm with for spring. i'm doing my deposits tomorrow. i missed out on one last season  Sad  and with the interest in better food growing with the general public, don't miss your opportunity!

these are my pics from the last half of the season. i started just taking one to send to mom because it was such a pretty assortment. i got a tad carried away!   Cheesy

CSA's ROCK! check around for references in your area or at local farmers markets/organic sellers.

oops! forgot this one!

king arthur flour   http://www.kingarthurflour.com/

also:  http://www.arrowheadmills.com/  now i'm not sure they are 100% USA because i haven't emailed, but they don't have the international organic symbol on their product  Wink  and they claim to be from america's heartland

straybaby thks for those sites. I too had bookmark problems so have been trying to recall the healthy sites I had saved. The eat wild is great for finding that farm in your area that has grass fed, organic, fresh veggies, etc. I found a new one on there today that is just what I've been looking for. Thx again!

Straybaby, those photos look like cooking magazine covers!  My mom and I have been talking about splitting a CSA for a couple of years now.  Having to pick food up at a certain time and place isn't convenient for me but your photos are making me think I have to make it work.  Maybe I could talk my mom into picking it up.

I ordered the lundberg rice at their website & Amazon was doing free shipping. It was cheaper than the 2 stores near me that carry it & you can really taste the difference.

You can't get more American than this!

http://nativeharvest.net/

The wild rice is awesome!  It is harvested in traditional ways and is nothing like the hard, icky stuff that passes for wild rice.  The herbal teas and jams are good, too.

Great thread!!  Eden foods seems to have a lot of US grown foods & a really strong stance on organic product integrity:

http://www.edenfoods.com/about/

some things are sourced from Japan which is OK with me since they seem to have it more together over there

I like what they write on USDA organic certification:

Re: Bookmarks - You can save them to disk/cd/usb and put them in an email to yourself stored at yahoo. Or make a web page and up-load them. That way if your hard drive crashes you will still have your bookmarks.

I just checked out that www.localharvest.org site that Straybaby posted and that is terrific.  It had a CSA listed near where my husband works.

This is a great thread. However, if you want to scare yourself, look at:
http://www.ucsusa.org/food_and_environment/genetic_engineering/llrice601-comments.html

Lundberg rice from California is yummy. My vet suggested it when talking about home cooking.
I didn't know a thing about LLRice601 until now.

That's why I buy the delicious California organic or eco-farmed rice.  I can get a good price on it bulk or even the pre-packaged Lundberg at an indepedent grocer near here.

I don't want GMO 'foods' that need to be tested for safety like drugs.  CA rice is still safe.
