Here is the recent thread about this. Not sure if they mentioned a brand or not.

Susan gave several clues without naming names. She said a leading pfc & complaints at consumer affairs. The top 3 foods are by Mars, Nestle & P & G. That would be Nutro/ Pedigree, All Purina, & Iams / Eukanuba. Asd for the complaints at CA, there are tons for almost all commercial pfc's. We need menusux to track this 1 down !

I thought it was just the jerky treats that are made in China specifically. Huh

It looks like Blue Buffalo has a lot of complaints in the last few months on Consumer Affairs.  The ones about cats and cancer really concern me, but they all look bad:

Natural Balance also has a lot of new complaints.  Here is the list of foods and other pet items if anyone wants to review the comments on specific brands:

Thanks for posting this, petslave!  My SIL feeds NB to her standard poodle.  Mazee has been pretty sick this last month.  At first they thought it might be meningitis, but they never did find out what it was.  She's better now after antibiotics.  The vets said it wasn't food related, but how do they know!  I've given my SIL the link you provided.

Honestly anything you can cook or prep raw is better than commercial. Save that for days you can't make anything. Even a cheese omelet is good for them. If you have to feed a dry food, try scrambling or hard boiling some eggs as a topper. At least that & leftovers will dilute the commercial food.

Trudy, instead of feeding purina, could you order another brand from the internet?  I know you have a lot of pets, and I don't know if anyone actually orders 30lb bags of dry dog food, but even if you could feed a few other brands occasionally it might help.

Also, a lot of feed stores are carrying better brands now.  If you have one in your area, check to see if they have anything better, or they might be able to special order something for you.
