Just found this on another forum......haven't verified yet.  Anyone aware of this?

Solid Gold Voluntary Recall - Turkey, Ocean Fish, Carrot, & Sweet
Potatoes Formula

Turkey, Ocean Fish, Carrot, & Sweet Potatoes Formula Canned Dog Food 13.2 oz
Cans – POP-TOP CANS ONLY WITH A 'USE BY DATE 01/02/2010' located on the
bottom of can

A limited production of this Turkey canned food was made with the POP-TOP,
and none of the product was distributed in any of the following states:
Arizona, California, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Hawaii, or Alaska.

Solid Gold has received several complaints regarding mold found in a batch
of 13.2 oz canned Turkey, Ocean Fish, Carrot, & Sweet Potatoes Formula, with
Pop-Tops. As a precautionary measure, they ask that you return any of this
product with the 'Use By Date 01/02/2010'; you will find these numbers on
the bottom of the cans.

*

13.2 oz Turkey and Ocean Fish Canned Dog Food.
*

Purple label with a POP –TOP (Pull top) only..
*

Date on bottom of can 01/02/2010
*

Turkey and Ocean Fish cans without a Pop-Top are not affected.

Will check their website for verification. Huh

ETA:  Last thing on their website is the Tiny Tots recall due to mold.  I'll see if I can find out from the other poster where she got her info.

Got this email from Dane at SG yesterday:

We have issued a voluntary recall on the 13.2 oz. pop-top  Turkey , Ocean Fish, Carrot & Sweet Potatoes Formula Canned Dog Food. The statement you read is our official statement.

I do apologize for our lack of a statement on our website.

I have passed the information on and hope to have this issue resolved by the end of the day.

Solid Gold Health Products for Pets, Inc.

Took a while to get a verification from them.  It is now posted on their website.

Oh how I wish FDA had recall authority.  Once again, I heard nothing about this on the news, so it seems they are all adopting policies that they only put these "recalls" on their websites?  Not everyone has a computer or even if they do, would know to go look at a companies website for a problem about their food.  Some of us may do this, but how many average people really go look daily at the website of the company who's food one is feeding to make sure all is OK with the food?   Angry

Now, it's pop top cans with mold-  previously it was treats with mold. I think I'd be looking at my distributors/manufacturers/plants pretty hard right now....

Looks like the Petfoodlist updated the canned: http://thepetfoodlist.com/petfoods_pg3.htm

Dry food made by Diamond, in Meta, Mo and Lathrop, CA

Canned foods are made by Simmons (was Blue Sky Pet Foods) - updated Dec., 2008

http://itchmoforums.com/news-recall-related/simmons-pet-food-inc-receives-warning-letter-from-fda-t5894.0.html

Simmons had gotten an FDA notice with a problem similar to the one Evanger's received.

They also co-pack for some of the WM Ol'Roy and Special Kitty--had issues with the can lining coming off into the food in 2006.
