lacy,
That's the worst part about all this, that they aren't saying anything. Going from being (seemingly) transparent to giving the complete silent treatment is not a good thing. I can't figure out why these companies don't seem to realize that not talking about problems won't make them go away. As you said, they simply need to address the issue. If they had a bad production run, tell us. If they had a bad batch of vitamin premix, tell us. Whatever the problem is, they need to simply tell us, then tell us how they plan on making sure it doesn't happen again. This isn't rocket science.

I don't use Natura products, but I've thought about using Cal Nat for my kitties, in rotation with the Wellness. But I'm staying away from it until Natura pulls their collective head out of their a** and does something.

EricV I agree with you 100%. I dont think they understand that if they address this and tell us what is wrong and how they can fix it, then a lot of us will respect that and go back to them. It seems like they are scared to tell us what the problem might be, thinking they will lose customers. But in reality, its the opposite. Addressing the problem quickly might actually keep the customers.

Thats a little odd about the store you go to. Maybe next time you go in there, you could talk to someone personally. That would make me a little paranoid too. Okay... A lot paranoid.. but thats just me.

lacy,
The last time I was in the store to pick up some Wellness, before the problems surfaced with Innova, I mentioned to the store clerk that I might pick up some Cal Nat too. She just looked at me, then told me that maybe I could try Felidae to rotate with the Wellness. I didn't think much of it then, but now I don't know. Maybe they know something and were told to keep quiet. Or maybe we're just really paranoid and our tinfoil hats are on a bit too tight.

Has anyone else tried contacting local retailers who sell Natura products, and asked if they'd had any unusual complaints?

Hmm. Thats very odd that she would tell you to try something else. But you are right. Could be we are way to paranoid. But I dont know. We have two stores that sell Natural products around here. One store only sells natura stuff and said they have had no complaints. Its flying off the shelves. The other store said no, but I dont trust them as much. And they only have 4 people buying the California natural dry food. Wellness is the most popular cat food there. Everytime I ask about complaints, he just "seems unsure" but says no. Thats probably me being my paranoid self. He did tell me though that he delivered a bag of Eagle pack that day and the lady called and said the bag was moving!!!! So he was on his way to check it out!  I dont know what could have been in the bag!! I cant wait to find out. haha.

lacy,
I've never had a moving back of food! A mouse or something probably hitched a ride in the bag of Eaglepack. For a cat that would be like the surprise in the Cracker Jack box.  Smiley

I asked the owner of my local natural pet supply store if he had any complaints about any of the Natura products and he said he had not.  He is very informed and upfront about things so I have no reason to doubt him. For example, when Wellness changed the formulas on some of the dog foods a few years back I guess a lot of dogs were having runny stool, etc and he posted a sign about the change so that folks knew what they were getting before they bought.  Anyway, I told him the Donna story and about the sutures, plastic and he is now very concerned and wants me to keep him updated.  He feeds his dog Innova kibble with no issues to date.  I'm not saying that there is no problem, just reporting that this store has no complaints.

Also, she reminded me that all of their ingredients are American sourced.

EricV

Thanks for the info. The line above needs deciphering, American sourced is not American grown, otherwise it would say grown in America. I appreciate this persons opinion but the facts remain that there is something less than 100% truth here. Natura may be fine, but we are all still waiting for test results.

Think Travis needs to do more reading on here.  Donna is not the only one that had problems with Innova.  And what lab is doing what testing?  Some pet food company people should just run for office and be in politics the spin is so bad,,,,,,they both getting ridiculous.

Eric and all....If Natura has the time and put the energy into informing  the person who works at the store...WHY are they ignoring the people WHO BUY and PAY for their products....Seems very fishy to me.....I wanna SEE all the lab results. I do not know Donna nor have I ever emailed or pm'ed with her..but I sure did with Natura reps who were very nice and informative..UNTIL my letters OVER A MONTH and a half ago on the CA and Tylonal issues...Since then...NOT A WORD NOT A PEEP...This is BS and I hope the store workers BUY their products because they seem to be the only ones worth Nautra time

people are condemning a highly reputable company based on one private individual's testimony.

EricV,

Have these people viewed Itchmo and seen any of the pictures posted by others, much less read some of the stories?   How does the Natura rep explain sutures, hair, black chunks and blue objects?   This is not a single incident.

Yeah they did get a little rough on you. Next time, at the end put in that you agree or disagree with the statement. That should make it clear.

Eric I was in no way shooting you I was pointing out  that it seemed off (fault being Natura's) for them to write a person who works at a store and not those of us who BUY/BOUGHT it...I don't think ANYONE has issues with you on this one...QUOTES and names are used in huge thread like this to distingush who and what we are referencing and why....No issue with you at all hon.

Um, wow. After reading Travis Naughton's email, I'm surprised and a little disgusted that a retailer would put forth so much editorial opinion in response to Eric's question. He's not a Natura rep - it's really not his place to tell people whether or not they should trust any company. If he sells the product, it's implied that he trusts it. He should have just passed on the info that he got from the Natura rep and left it at that.  Angry
