JustMe It's been awhile since I found the reference on the web, but the kibble looked like what PFR posted, with a little stitch sticking out of it like fishing line. The reference was to euthanized pets being included in rendered pet food.

Just so I am "politically correct" --  I have never made any reference to euthanized pets or rendering.

debsue and I were trying to describe something that was in the kibble.  Sometimes it's difficult to find the appropriate word to describe something (thus the picture), so how about this "it's beige and sort of like a flat piece of nylon line"

Donna Coincidentally, I found a picture on the web some time ago (which I can't readily find now) that was a suture.

No reference intended to the picture you posted.

Just so strange to see kibble with stringy things hanging off!

I had some trouble getting my camera to focus, but here are my photos of the kibble:

Can you see the rubber and nylon line (or whatever they are) in the first picture?

The second picture shows the pieces from the first picture, along with a piece with a white chunk and a piece with a black chunk.

(Modified to add the photos.)

This just gets worse and worse, doesn't it?

debsue: If you have them on photobucket or a similar image hosting service, just enclose the URL in [img] tags. If it's on your HD, click on "additional options" then where it says "attach" click "browse" and find the photo.

edit: Never mind, you found it.  Smiley

Debsue When you post, you'll see an "Additional Options" line at the bottom of the post. If you click on that, it will allow you to upload pictures.

Thanks, Shibadiva (and Orange Fuzzball).  I think I've got it now.

Debsue,

 Familiar?

Donna

Donna now that you have this pic on when I was buying the Beef n' More from Sam's club I took back the bags a couple of times for new ones because they had a lot of white things hanging out of them like in your pic. In fact in one of the bags I could swear that they were moving and I thought of maggots immediately but it was partially sticking out of the kibble not crawling on it.

Donna -
That looks more like some of the white chunks in mine.  The nylon line or whatever in mine is a lot thinner.

when my dogs had their blood test the vet said the test showed they were dehydrated. Even though they were drinking huge amounts of water. I have seen strange things in food also.

OH GOOD LORD!!  What is all that CR*P in the pet food!  This is NOT OK!!

What was that website that described that guy dumping human bodies wrapped in blue plastic tarp at the rendering plant?  Maybe we should get this tested for human gene markers!!??!!

petslave  - WHAT? dumping human bodies at rendering plants? And these plants never thought anything of it - just ground them up with everything else? Now I really am ill, ready to puke, ack, gag, yech, blech. Is this they way they dispose of the homeless who die and no one claims them? How horrific if that were to be true.
