Carol,
I am so sorry that you have to suffer again because of lack of competence on somebody's part.  I hope you can get this resolved and be properly acknowledged for both Smudge and Jessica.  {{hugs}}

I'm sorry to hear they screwed up Jessica's claim, Carol. Incompetence like this just makes the pain that much worse.

Its just infuriating, its been 4 years since the recalls started and now they are messing up people's claims and putting them through more stress with worrying how...or if...they can even get them corrected.  I wonder if there is anyone these people can go to if their claims are messed up by the settlement law firm, who fights for the defendants?   Aaargh!  Angry

Another delay for those who want closure. Such a shame that it can be drawn out and drawn out and those who brought this are the ones suffering as this is prolonged with no closure yet.

Carol, I am so sorry they messed up your claim. I am not surprised, though, but they will hopefully have you re-send copies of the missing documentation without giving you a fuss.

So I just got called back...it seems I over-reacted (not me) as the term "documented" expenses were basically just being used as anything under $900 were not being selected for "review" or being considered in-house as being "documented" so it explains why they were different...and the important part he said were the eligible expenses which in my case for both Smudge and Jessica were 100%...so I did it "right" and so did they...he did agree that it was confusing and understood why I thought differently...and reading around on-line it seems that others are saying their claims are different too---still do not care how much I get back...I just did not want to screw up this last piece of the nightmare of 2007...

We just got our two letters in the mail too, with the same documented/not documented business, I also have a call in to them asking for an explanation. I am glad they are calling people back, but they sure made more work for
themselves the way they wrote up those letters!

They are supposed to be sending out checks within 60 days-  based on a formula to figure how much out of allocated money each one will actually get. I too am more concerned with their acknowledgement of what they did to our pets than the actual money, although we do now need some vet expenses covered.

After all this time.....the end of the nightmare is in sight...I do feel some sense of peace and closure now.  Carol - I wish this feeling for you too (and all of us). Our loved ones are never forgotten, but the wrong done to them will finally be acknowledged.

While I know the money won't in any way make up for the loss, I still think its important. Its the only admission they have ever made of guilt. Whether you keep the money or donate it, its important that the pfc's responsible for these deaths are finally made to do something to acknowledge their culpability.

I too sense a feeling of "moving on with the nightmare".  Although I will never forget my two kitties and what they went through...I have to be able to move on and enjoy my pups and kitties now and let go some of the anger...to me this acknowledgment allows me to put the huge yellow folder to the back of my file cabinet...and throw out the box of food that I have been keeping...I still want safe food and will stay informed and send the occasional email and make that phone call....but I felt frozen these last few years with anger and sadness...I have to  move on...
