after getting over the shock, it makes sense since there are no mandatory recalls except for baby formula . . . and nobody takes responsibility for the tainted products. THEY DON'T HAVE TO.

"Other legislative proposals include requiring manufacturers to make it easier for parents to identify recalled toys and making it illegal to sell such products."

Nor is it illegal to sell 're-called' pet food then? Probably all the new packaging coming out will contain the re-called food in it mixed with some new stuff so any testing might be thrown off by the new mixed in with the old. Gotta still make money off the killer feed IMO. Huh

I had begun to suspect this was the case, but I am shocked to find out that it's true.  Like my nightmare turned out to be reality.  Soylent Green.

Regarding re-using recalled food, I have been wondering for awhile where all that recalled spinach from last fall went--note how a line of cat food in little blue-green cans featuring "florentine (a dish with spinach) and "greens" suddenly appeared all over the place a few months after the massive spinach recall, and free samples were mailed unsolicited to (I assume) millions of people.  I don't have dogs and so don't know dog food, but I'm sure the same thoughts could apply.

I believe in recycling, but this is not what most recyclers have in mind, IMO.  I read an article on CNN the other day (sorry--can't find the link now) about the USA shipping lots of junk to China for recycling, and the Chinese sending it back in the form of "products".  It sure looks like it is more than melting down glass bottles to make new ones.

Wondered about the same myself.
