Just bumping up this request from June 2007 on the off chance someone has a
sample of Iams Activity Maturity Fish and Rice, which disappeared in the fall
of 2006 with no explanation. Please also pm me if you have a late 2006 or early
2007 sample of Iams Activie Maturity Chicken and Rice.

I remember when their canned disappeared from my grocers' shelves very early in 2007 (prior to the recalls).  Possibly late 2006, too, not sure at this point.   I looked in several grocery stores, including pet supply stores.

I even called them looking for the canned as it was among the foods I was feeding to Pepper.  I encountered a very polite, but confused person on the phone who kept stammering when I asked why there was no canned to be found.   Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

I don't think we every used the fish, just chicken, chicken and rice, adult and active maturity.

I received coupons from them.  They arrived right after the first recall announcement.  Angry

Thanks, JustMe. This is all hindsight speculation on my part, but I am really looking
for an unopened sample to independently test from late 2006 or early 2007  because:

1. my three cats had been eating this food for years and were all diagnosed with renal failure
in January 2007.
2. we know that Iams had a contract with Menu Foods for production during this time.
3. the fact that this food simply silently disappeared from store shelves looks questionable, especially
in view of the fact that Iams threatened Menu Foods with blowing the whistle on the situation if
Menu Foods did not go public and recall the foods it was aware were causing death in March 2007.

So I would test Iams Active Maturity Fish or Chicken flavors if I could find one to answer questions
for myself and others who fed this food that we don't have any answers for.
