We have a lot of entries for a US company, Breeder's Choice/Avoderm to start this off with.  My impression from what's shown for the company at the PetFood List was that only one of their products was made in China.  Not sure why we are seeing so many of their products coming through OASIS labeled filthy, if their dry foods are made by their own California plant, and most of their canned is made by Menu and American Nutrition.

Again, if all but the one canned cat food is made in the US, why are we seeing these OASIS refusals?  The only thing I can come up with is that the products were shipped elsewhere and returned for some reason.  When they returned, they were examined by FDA.  If this isn't the case, it may be that Breeder's Choice/Avoderm is now producing more than the 1 variety of canned cat food elsewhere.

     What does "LIST INGRE LACKS N/C" mean?  Seems to be a recurring comment, but I have no idea what it means.   

Sorry to seem dense, but I don't see any "color highlighted" words.  Everything except the web links is black and white.

Then, on the right hand side you see words that are color highlighted.  Like FILTHY.  Click on FILTHY and it gives  you their definition of FILTHY.  Puke warning!!!!!

When I was checking into Pinnacle dry food for our kitten, I had inquired into their food.  They said they use Menu for their canned cat foods and the chicken & veg canned dog food.  They said they do not use ingredients from China.  She said except for quinoa from S America and lamb from New Zealand in the Avoderm Oven-Baked, all ingredients are purchased by their company (no brokers) from sources in the U.S.  They require certification from their sources, they test incoming ingredients, they test food after manufacturing to make certain it required specs for guaranteed analysis.  During the recall and periodically they send their products out to an independent lab for testing.  Im just copying from an e:mail they sent.    I dont know what this all means, perhaps an issue at their plant?  Guess I will be sending them another e:mail to find out.......   Thanks Menusux!

I might add that I had not purchased their food but was getting ready to.  Darn it all, I think the only thing safe is bark and cardboard anymore.

Also, I just sent a message to Pinnacle inquiring into this.  I copied and pasted the Oasis report and asked why their products were refused for being filthy.  It will be interesting to see how they respond, if they respond. 

Going:

You can decide what you want to do about Avoderm......the same company makes Nylabone & I brought the "healthy" (ha) edible bones back. 

First of all, why is it coming IN to this country if it's made here?  And second of all, if the stuff coming in has been stopped for filth, I think that says enough right there.  My guess is that for the FDA to stop anything, it would have to be pretty bad.

That was enough for me to bring those bones back.  Won't use any more of their products either.

Choices are few but at least we are now learning the truth about what we've been feeding our babies after all this time.  Pretty disgusting......
