I noticed last year that horse feed is recalled a LOT, usually contaminated with a cattle medication that outright kills horses.  It must be really scary to have to buy horse feed.

I am posing a stupid ?? how does wheat ,corn, oats, molasses end up with cattle DRUGS???

Sis just bought a horse, live in WA thank goodness.  That plant needs to really be shut down.

sharky - I think this pelleted feed is made for a number of different species, some get a little of this, some a little of that depending on who it's for.  I don't know how they screw up the dosing of meds into the wrong pellets, but they seem to do it fairly frequently.  Kind of like the pet food formulation problems, x10.

Trudy posted something earlier in the year about the drought back east last year causing major hay shortages in large areas.  People were taking their horses to auction, with most of them ending up in slaughterhouses because no one could keep them over the winter without hay.  Very sad.
