If anyone is feeding Evanger’s dog food or even cat food please either bring it back or check the cans. This is from Canada, it was on the news just last night there. When you come to the page, click on the video that says Dangerous Dog Food:

Women finds 3 metal tags in Evangers Canned chicken dog food, better be safe and check your canned cat food too. See the story here.

This product was sold in Canada but came from Chicago in the U.S.

This is the link to the video clip news story.  The tags found are from the meat.  The brand is Evanger's Roasted Chicken Drumette Dinner (canned). I will update this post with some photos of what the clips look like as soon as I can grab them.

Well I am shocked and surprised ! After all they have such an untarnished record of safety and care  Roll Eyes In case that was clear not enough, I am being totally snarky and sarcastic !  If anyone doesn't know why I am being so nasty, do an Evangers search here and read the little saying under my post.

These are screen captures from the news story link posted above.  Evanger's claims this food was produced at their plant in 2009 and that they didn't have metal detectors for their pet food lines then. They claim to have it now.  The food has been taken off the shelves--at least in Canada, as per the news story.

The tags are from the chicken used in the food.

Anytime!  Wink  I hope you will keep us posted about this because we seem to be just about the only site with the information.  Have tried to find a "hard copy" news story on it, but no luck so far.

Checked the Evanger's website and there is no mention of any of this.  Angry

Have notified local carriers. Was not on the news here at all.

Product Benefits
- Whole pieces of uncut meat placed into the can by hand!

From their website for this product.
BTW, the tags certify the chicken was kosher -- which I'm pretty sure it isn't, once you cook it with metal.

The news story said the tags were the size of a postage stamp--how can you NOT see/notice something that size when you're packing by hand?  Roll Eyes

Ugh Evangers...pffft!  Tongue  After their past history of game-playing, I could never believe one word they have to say about anything.

That's terrifying. That's a nasty vicious little weapon that could latch onto the stomach/gut wall. Horrific.

I'm still shocked that metal this size was in those cans.  Sickening.  Horrible, particularly when plenty of dogs tend to "wolf" down their meals.

Guess that is why pet parents should always mash any canned food with a fork before serving it to their beloved pets.  Roll Eyes  Shocked  Angry

Still nothing more on this. I find this so aggravating when companies do not post on their web sites about issues they have had.
