I think FDA is still catching up on updating these OASIS refusals.

This from Jan. 2011

Thanks for this, Spartycats. There hasn't been any recall on this at all up here. Wonder if CFIA or Ag Canada knows about it. There isn't really an overseeing body for pet foods here. It's the fox watching the henhouse.

And why is that not surprising?? given previous experience can't say I am surprised at all. Bet its not mentioned on their site anywhere either - yeap can't find any mention of it. Has anyone else found anything on their site about this problem? Let's hope companion animals don't die or sicken this time and that the contaminated batch has been destroyed.

I just bought a bag of this last month, guess I better check the product code.  I always treat the dogs' dry food as if it is loaded with salmonella since it does seem to be a prevalent problem.

I'm confused about that page though - it says Jan 2011, but then at bottom says last updated 4/2009.  Anyone know what that means?  Just a typo?

petslave the last update for 2009 I took that to mean the way the page is laid out, etc. (the re-design, etc.) unless you think it is something else but that date is below the subject of the refusal and has a line separating it from the upper part of the page.

I thought the same thing - many govt forms here have something similar as a  footnote so people know the current form is being used.

That's probably it, it's the date the form was made, not the day it was filled in.  My dry food wasn't that lot, I guess.  The numbers on it didn't look at all like the one in the notice, so maybe I didn't find the right number.

Just fyi, there aren't lot numbers in refusal reports.
The product number is an FDA code.

72BFT05
72 = pet food
B = dog food (A is cat food)
F= paper (the packaging)
T = packaged food (not commercially sterile)
05 = Comb. prod. pet dog food

Don't they manufacture their own foods?

Yes, they do. No one else to blame but themselves.
