Thanks for the prayers and well wishes.  We're doing good all things considered and are so greatful we have family in the area that didn't have damage that we can stay with.  The girls, Chelsea and Phoebe are doing much better than I expected.  They are pretty unsocialized and have been put in a situation where there are a lot of people around.  Phoebe has discovered that means more scratching and petting and is loving it.  Chelsea has started protecting her new home, barking at cars passing by .... someone has to keep them away and she gives us a look every once in a while like "am I the only one that's going to keep the evil traffic away".  We are dealing with insurance adjusters and contractors and hope to be back home before the end of the month or at least by Thanksgiving.  The house lost some vents on the roof which allowed water to damage all but one room.  The old walls, ceilings and insulation have been removed and replaced and we are waiting for some door frames to be replaced, texture on the walls, paint and flooring.  There are a lot of people in the area that are in worse shape than we are with no house left to rebuild.  We consider ourselves lucky.

Thank you so much for the update, ChelsandPhoebs.  I'm glad to hear the dogs are doing pretty well, considering that they have been uprooted.  I hope you will be home soon.

I hope you can get back home soon. Sound like there's real progress in that direction.

Sounds like they are doing a steady job of getting your house ready so you can move back. That will be such a relief to get back to 'your' house even though you have people to stay with for now.

I'm really glad to hear that you and Chelsea and Phoebe are doing as well as can be.  They might even miss some of the extra attention and action.  Glad you have insurance and can fix things.  I never thought about roof vents doing that.  I can see that rain driving in!  They just updated the story on the news tonight and it does sound like you were lucky compared to so many.  I think the story has been overlooked by the media due to the financial crisis, but they said that 150 are still missing after a month has gone by.  Hope they can find some peace for their families and that the relief efforts have been more extensive than the media coverage.

Keep us updated on your progress and will keep you in our prayers.
