Petfood Safety will be the focus of the Kemin Industries 2009 Petfood Symposium

Des Moines, Iowa – August 19, 2009 – Industry experts will provide the latest information regarding food safety in petfoods and petfood ingredients at the Kemin Industries
5th Annual Petfood Symposium at the Renaissance St. Louis Grand and Suites Hotel, October 6 – 7.

The symposium will be composed of four breakout sessions on the topics of regulatory, manufacturing, quality assurance and testing. Attendees will have the opportunity to
ask questions of the eleven experts as well as participate in a panel discussion on testing issues.

“Kemin is pleased to provide this educational opportunity to petfood companies on the topic of food safety,” said Giuseppe Abrate, president of Kemin Industries’ petfood division.

“With the heightened awareness of food safety issues worldwide, a concerted effort to address food safety needs in the petfood industry is critical for the profitability of our industry.”

Jennifer Radosevich, PhD., director of regulatory affairs and R&D for the petfood division of Kemin Industries, is scheduled to present information on biogenic amines and
product quality during the manufacturing session on Wednesday, October 7.

There will be ample opportunities for networking with colleagues and speakers throughout the symposium. Furthermore, attendees are invited to a private tour and dinner with Kemin
at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery Tuesday evening.

Interested attendees are encouraged to visit to view the symposium agenda and register.
